So, let's imagine that - hypothetically - I dug my PS3 out of the closet, ordered a third party controller because I lost mine and they don't make official ones anymore, received the controller in the mail, set up the PS3, installed all the updates, spent twenty minutes clearing off the hard drive, and then rested like God on the seventh day, because IT was good. 

Yes, for some crazy reason I dug out my PS3. Well, mostly because I wanted to play Dragon Age 1 and 2. But, I after digging out some games from storage, browsing the PSN store, and redownloading digital games I purchased but never really played, I'm kind of thrilled. The PS3 and Xbox 360 years, for me, were a time of dabbling in games - I played a lot of things, but I had trouble finishing them. I did complete the Mass Effect trilogy On the 360, but on the PS3, the only game I believe I beat was Tales of Graces F, but I didn't do the postgame. Well. Guess what game is sitting beneath my TV now? 

So, I have a bit of unfinished business. I also happily discovered there are a bunch of Ratchet and Clank games I can buy and play now. Also, like I mentioned before, there are some digital games I bought that I only sampled then forgot about. For instance, the Devil May Cry reboot, Digital Devil Saga, and a bunch of PSONE classics. 

I gave the Devil May Cry reboot about an hour of play last night. I really have no recollection buying it, but there must have been a sale. I really enjoyed playing it, actually. Low expectations helped. But the combat is fun. The story and presentation though... well, let's just say the developers were obviously trying to be edgy in an early 2000s way. Also, the game is obviously an example of the era when games were doing their best to be and to be defined like movies. Fortunately, with the PS4/Switch/XBONE era, games became happy with being games.
