Games Beaten

 -Taito Legends (PS2)

Were the "good old days" better? This collection proves that, while there were some great arcade games back in the day, a lot them were rough, quarter-munching experiences that are best left in the past. My favorite on this collection is probably Super Qix but other notable games include Bubble Bobble, Elevator Action, Plotting, Rainbow Islands, The New Zealand Story, and the Space Invaders games, of course.

-The Red Star (PS2)

I don't associate Acclaim with much quality content but this nearly-unreleased swan song is an exception. The Red Star deftly mixes melee, shooting, and bullet hell bosses to nearly Treasure-level heights (Treasure would have had deeper and more complicated movements abilities, let's be honest). It's not without faults and can be unforgiving in difficulty but it's rewarding to master. We rarely see games like this anymore and that's a pity.

Games Bought

February saw the purchase of a game I've meant to get for a long time: Cuphead (Switch). There is a Cuphead show that just came out on Netflix and my kids were immediately obsessed with it. Combine that with the game being on sale on the Switch eShop, and I decided to pull the metaphorical trigger. My wife also downloaded Inside (Switch) while it was on sale. My physical copy of RWBY: Grim Eclipse (Switch) finally arrived from Limited Run Games. I have watched enough of the show at least to play the game without spoiling anything for myself lol. (It's a great show. Go watch it!) Rounding out the month is a PS+ game for PS4: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot, which I assume is a fantasy-themed Borderlands offshoot. I'm down for that.

Games Being Played

-Cuphead (Switch)

This game has been gobbling my time up. But I've taken down two bosses on isle 3. I'm coming for you, Devil!

-The Great Ace Attorney 2 (Switch)

This poor game is suffering from my Cuphead obsession. I'll get back to it soon!

-Mario Super Picross (Super Famicom - Switch Online)

I'm in the 8th set of Mario's puzzles (of 11). Then it will be onto the Wario puzzles!

-Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate (Switch)

Still just chugging away killing monsters and crafting gear.

-Taito Legends 2 (PS2)

There are enough games left on this collection that I could save it for next year's BaD but I don't really want to. So I'm planning to keep playing these and release a blog or so a week.

I'm glad you're going to write more about Taito Legends 2.  Can't wait till you get to G Darius and Metal Black!

Cuphead is great, but dude, you need to finish Great Ace Attorney! The last case is bonkers good, so if I were you, I'd focus on finishing that one, but I get the "too many games to play" dilemma, I'm kinda in that situation too.

Theoretically Cuphead is shorter. Let's be honest, I've still got at least 20 hours of Ace Attorney still to go Sealed But no more distractions after this!

I'm curious about Cuphead. I'm always looking for a sale but it hasn't come down that much. I'll play it someday. That's great they did a show. I should check that out.

Speaking of Cup Head, I just referenced something I heard from the making of that game today. I was joking about my friend and I starting a movie studio by getting a bunch of credit cards to fund it. That's part of how the devs got Cup Head made. Good for them it all worked out. It's a risky move.

I got Cuphead for $15 instead of $20. According to a website I found online that tracks sales for games, Cuphead has never been cheaper than $12 (on the Switch at least). It's a cool game but hard.

I remember that Microsoft dumped money into Cuphead once it made a splash after being revealed. That's why it was just on Xbox for a while. I wonder what kind of game it would have been without that extra money.

I know it's hard but I'd like to see the graphics for a reasonable price.
