From February 'til now, I've managed to pick up quite a few new games and consoles. Bargain bins and trades have been good to me this past month and a half. Here's the lot:

3dsxl

First was preordering Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot at Gamestop, but then I had to ask about a 3DS XL and it turned out a store near me had one. Well, I couldn't resist, and picked it up, probably my biggest purchase of the year so far. To offset that a little bit, I traded in my New 3DS at Game Junkies and got exceptional trade-in value. I combined that with some store credit I had and got what's pictured below minus the 3DS XL I've already shown:

PS4slim

A PS4 Slim! I wanted a white one, but I took what I could get. I paid only $17 for it after all the credit I had and the trade-in of the New 3DS.

I then proceeded to start rebuilding my PS4 collection and, along the way, picked up some other games.

The last four were picked up on a buy 3-get-1 free sale on the wall of $5 games at Game&DVD Exchange.

Finally, a few miscellaneous things. I got a case for my Switch off of Amazon. I should've just got it at Gamestop though, it would've been cheaper.

And a print on a tin of the image used for promoting the first Epic Mickey game that I like a lot. I got this on Amazon because I couldn't find a poster. It's not the best. It should be in landscape format, not portrait, and the tin is not perfectly flat (must've got a little bent in the mail). But, at least I have something to look at.

And that's all for now. Just waiting for Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot to drop in April now.

Definitely looking forward to Advance Wars. I'm enjoying Fire Emblem Engage immensely.

My most recent acquisitions were Metroid Prime Remastered and Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure. Metroid Prime Remastered wasn't available for about a month due to scalpers. However, my local Walmarts seem to be getting it in stock now, so I picked it up there and am playing it now. Forgot how brutally hard the Phazon Mines are.. It would be nice if people would stop buying from scalpers, but what are you gonna do, I guess.

It seems certain games are wise to preorder because they become scarse pretty quickly. I didn't realize it might be because of scalpers though.

Nintendo shadow-dropped Metroid Prime on the eShop during a Direct, and announced a cartridge version to launch two weeks after. Scalpers snapped it up. It was showing up on eBay for $80 the day it launched. However, Nintendo did promise restocks, and it happens that Walmart got restocks in my area. So holding out for a physical restock worked quite well.

I missed out on all the Xenoblade Chronicles collectors' editions. I did snag both CEs for the Switch Fire Emblem games, however. Trails to Azure is a niche title and so most of the copies that shipped on launch day were pre-ordered. Nintendo products and niche RPGs are a good idea to pre-order. I won't preorder anything else anymore. No point in it.

I'm debating a preorder of Pikmin 4. I definitely want it day-one. I don't think it'll be a high demand item, so maybe I'll just walk in a store when it arrives.
