I finished Mass Effect Andromeda and switched consoles to PS4. After playing a few games there, I settled on Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain. I am now going to battle bugs for the rest of the month.

Mass Effect Andromeda ended well. It didn't have as an engaging a story as the first trilogy, but I enjoyed it. I settled all the planets fully, explored all the planets and their solar systems, and went to yet another height of intamacy with PeeBee. I enjoyed all the side missions, talking to all the characters and discovering their stories. I loved tooling around in the Nomad over dunes, snow drifts, mountains and jungles. It often amazed me how much graphical content is in this game. Perhaps I'll play it again someday, maybe on another system just for fun. Or maybe I'll just play it on a harder difficulty, because playing on story mode (or whatever it was called) was a bit too easy. I was not tasked to tweak my equipment to survive at all. So there's something to do if I return to it.

I literally removed my Xbox from the room in order to focus on the PS4 because otherwise I will finid myself back on Xbox. I explored the PS4 store and sales (it's been a while). I downloaded games from my playlist for this month and played a few like ActRaiser Renaissance, Patapon 2, Ys IX demo, and Wargroove before buying Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain on a sale, and now I'm fully hooked on it, blastin' bugs and robots galore. This game is a spinoff of the main series just like EDF: Insect Armageddon and designed more for the western audience, which means it's easier. I don't prefer this version of EDF, but it's still good.

That's all for now. Thanksgiving is just around the corner.

When I played Patapon on PSP, I felt the demo of that game was better than the game itself.

So are you playing a demo of Ys IX or X?  Ys X: Nordics is the new game out so I just wanted to know which one you are trying?

I can never get far in the Patapon games, but I just love the visuals and sounds so much, I keep trying.

It was IX. I remembered that you recommended X, so I'll check that out next week.

I don't know if they have a demo of it, but maybe try Ys VIII as well.  One of my brothers once described it as "Jurassic Park: The JRPG."
