Just a quick blog after doing some trades before I head back to my friend's game room. Here's some stuff I got recently.
Peggle Dual Shot (DS)
I discovered five more retro game stores within an hour of me and visited three of them last week. I finally found a copy of Peggle Dual Shot. Only a loose cart for $25, but I got it anyway because I had been looking so long and didn't want to lose it. It was my number one most wanted DS game that wasn't through-the-roof expensive. I'd buy it again if I see it complete so I can have it in the box.
DS, 48 Cart Carrying Case
I got this on Amazon for $20 or so. I have a lot of loose carts and only small cases for them. Now I'm happily organized for my DS binge.
Call of Duty Black Ops 1 and 2 (X360)
For about $12 each with some of the credit I had at Classic Game Junkies. I almost got the CODBOps Collection (1-3), but I was told it only had CODBOps III Zombie multiplayer and no campaign. So I got 1 and 2 individually instead. I'm not sure if I'd like 3 yet anyway. I tried CODBOps 1 some time back out of curiousity and, after only a half-hour or so, realized I should've played these way back in 2010. There's something about gameplay I like that is immediately recognizable to me even after only a few minutes of play.
Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection (PS3)
I had to pick this up again. $24 with credit from OG Xbox trade-ins. Even though these games drive me crazy like most puzzle or platforming games, I consider these games works of art and want them in my collection to bash my head against every so often.
I'll be wrapping up my Xbox plays in tomorrow's blog. I'm already playing DS exclusively as of Wednesday.
The DS is an awesome handheld.
I like it even better than the 3DS.
I think I do, too. But I also really like the StreetPass feature of the 3DS.
Oh yeah, that was cool. I read that features in DQIX inspired the Street Pass for 3DS.
I got Black Ops III from PS+ and my Destiny group played some of it once during a lull in Destiny. It plays really well. What cracked me up, though, is that there is an NPC with you during the campaign that is the most dude-bro dude ever. Every time he opened his mouth it was something said 100% seriously but boiled down to stuff like, "We're awesome! Explosions! Suck it, bad guys! Adrenaline for life!!!"
So, I realized that Black Ops 3 came out for next gen consoles as well as 360, so I'll put it in with my Xbox One games when I get there. That campaign NPC sound hilarious, I can't wait to play the story mode.
