Rest in Peace Mr. Iwata
Hello Pixlbit, hope you had a good weekend. I had no plans on posting soon, but just heard some really sad news. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has sadly passed away.
I really can't believe he's gone, well not just me but everyone. I thought it was a joke, but everyone on the internet was reporting it, even Nintendo's Japanese account had it. I heard it was due to his health issues, and that may be the reason he skipped E3. He did get alot of hate, I personally never hated Iwata. But he did do alot for Nintendo like the Wii and DS, and probably many more things I'm probably forgetting. But, you can tell he was really passionate about his job and games.
Not sure who will take the reigns now at Nintendo, but I heard that Shigeru Miyamoto might take the position. I can picture either him, or Masahiro Sakurai taking the position. For those that don't know, Iwata used to work at HAL Labs, the company that makes the Kirby games, and Sakurai used to work there too. I hope whoever they pick, they are well qualified because whoever is going to be in control has some pretty big shoes to fill.
It definitely wont be the same without him, especially all the hype he was giving us on the NX. So, rest in peace Mr. Iwata, I'm not sure about everyone, but I will miss him.
It's really sad and seemingly out of the blue.
That is very sad news and I was shocked. He was younger than my parents. I thought he was older than that. You could tell he really tried to do his best, at least I thought so. I wonder who will replace him? I kind of doubt it'll be Miyamoto, but I hope they pick someone good.
He seemed like a really happy wholesome man. It's too bad.
I thought something might be wrong when he wasn't going to be at E3. Didn't think he'd pass away though. This is really going to shake Nintendo up. I don't think Miyamoto will be put in his place. He's seems like someone who wouldn't want that job. He's so creative and into making games. The boss probably doesn't have time for that.
Truly devastating news. While not everyone liked the decisions he made, I thought he was a phenomenal influence at Nintendo and brought a sense of lighthearted joy that has driven the company for a long time now.
I have no idea how they go about replacing him - his sense of presence was enormous and he clearly had a sense of humor that made him endearing to the gaming community. I just hope whoever takes his place truly carries his legacy and doesn't drive Nintendo down the same road being charted by Sony and Microsoft. I appreciate Nintendo's uniqueness and truly attribute that to Iwata.

I was also shocked and devastaded about his death and honestly, there's was simply no one like him. He cared about video games just as much as the company and showed commitment even on harsh times. Aside from that, he was also an excellent programmer, from patching up Mother/ Earthbound Beginnings in just a few days to even managing to help Game Freaks with including Kanto unto Pokemon Gold and Silver. The video game really lost one of its most influential figures.
