Games Beaten
-Kirby's Return to Dream Land (Wii)
Return to Dream Land takes the classic Kirby formula and adds a few wrinkles, most notably four-player multiplayer. That's an awesome addition in my book! Though I got to play with just one other person, the multiplayer was a lot of fun. Another cool addition was super-powered abilities that showed up on rare, specific occasions. Most of the adventure is not hard but getting all the collectables and finishing the challenge rooms can be quite, well, challenging. Another solid Kirby game!
Games Bought
November was a pretty slow for purchases (no, I didn't dive into any of the massive releases). We did finally get The Handsome Collection for PS4, which includes Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!. Also picked up a copy of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (3DS) but we still need another so that my wife and I can play together. Beyond that it's just PS+ games. Magicka 2 intrigues me most since I've heard good things about that series, though I'm not sure how it would play with a controller (it was designed for a mouse or touchpad, I think). I've already played Mass Effect 2 (PS3) and Beyond Good & Evil HD (PS3)—well, I played that on PS2 but I'm happy to have the HD version—and I intend to play The Walking Dead: Season 2 (PS4) on my Vita. That just leaves Invizimals (Vita) and Dragon Fin Soup (PS4, Vita), which looks interesting.
Now Playing
-LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (PS4)
This is a good game to play while my kids are up, so we've made some good progress recently. Brainiac just shrunk several major European cities.
-Deus Ex: Human Revolution: Director's Cut (Wii U)
Been meaning to start this all year. The game has sucked me in, just like the original version did in 2011. Unfortunately, this is not a good game to play while my kids are up, so I have not made that much progress in it
-The Legend of Zelda: TriForce Heroes (3DS)
My wife and I are playing this with my brother when we can and with strangers when we have to. It's a lot of fun! Some of the later levels really have some teeth too.
-Destiny: The Taken King (PS4)
Looks like I might not get the raid beaten before the new year, certainly not before Christmas. Everyone I know is very busy (me included)!
Ostensibly I'm still playing Theatrhythm, The Walking Dead: Season One, and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite but they've all taken a back burner with the holidays upon us. I'll be getting back to them as soon as I can.
I'm looking at a Skylanders sale at Gamestop tomorrow. Buy the SuperChargers starter pack for $38 and get any other starter pack for free. I have Swap Force now for Xbox One, so I'm thinking of Trap Team.
I've never played any of the Skylander games but I hear good things. It just costs too much to really get into that series for me lol.
Same here, but when these sales appeared, I thought it the perfect time to get into it.
man that season 2 of Walking Dead is intense. Don't say I didn't warn you. Few games have so much drama as that one. I watched rapt as my brother played it.
I haven't played Dragon Fin Soup yet. That reminds me, I'm gonna go charge my Vita now.
I can only imagine. The little preview of the second episode of Season One after i finished the first episode looked very intense O_O
Hey, did you hear that Telltale is going to make a Batman game?
I did! And I'm very excited!
If you like Return to Dream Land, you should also try Kirby Triple Deluxe on 3DS.
I covered and previewed Dragon Fin Soup for a couple of years, and when it came out and I requested a review copy, they just said, "Oh it's free with PS Plus this month." I don't subscribe to that, so that kind of pissed me off.
It's hard to get people to play Triforce Heroes with me.
I have Triple Deluxe and look forward to playing it! Just gotta find the time lol.
Yeah, the random people playing TriForce Heroes really cover the whole spectrum. We've come across some people who were a lot of fun to play with and then some others that were just awful.
