Games Beaten
Well, I didn't beat any games in August but I did play Breath of the Wild for over 30 hours. That's longer than many games.
Games Bought
Slow month here too. We bought my oldest son Sonic Mania Plus (Switch) for his birthday and I got Yakuza Kiwami 2 at the end of the month. With PS+ I got another VR game I'll probably never play—Here They Lie—but who knows? I also got Mafia III (PS4), Serious Sam 3: BFE (PS3), Space Hulk (Vita), and Draw Slasher (Vita). Of those I'm probably most likely to play the Vita games.

-The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)
Like I said earlier, I have put over 30 hours into this game and I'm completed only one Divine Beast (of four). Gonna be a long haul. Good thing it's so fun!
-Destiny 2 (PS4)
Thanks to the Solstice of Heroes event I spent a surprising amount of time on Destiny 2 in August. As of this writing D2's massive DLC Forsaken comes out tomorrow and I'm super excited. Bungie did a free preview of Gambit, the new PvPvE mode, over the weekend and it was really fun.

I never got passed Frankenstein's monster back in the day but so far I've made it to Death...who has killed me each time 
-Earth Defense Force 2025 (PS3) (PS+)
Still just plugging away at this huge game. Got my Ranger's armor over 2100 and working on Hardest difficulty.
I'm just glad you got Kiwami 2.
Also, I finished Gravity Rush 2 recently and I seem to recall you liking that series. I enjoy it as well. Maybe not as much, cause I do see its flaws, but it's a gorgeous game with some fun mechanics.
I got the Platinum on Gravity Rush 2. I'm glad you finished it. It's surprisingly long! And that last part is weird lol. I doubt we'll get another Gravity Rush but if I find out what that director's next game is, I'll definitely be interested.
And then there is Kiwami 2, another game that, like GR2, is oh so Japanese but in a completely different way. I'm looking forward to starting that.
I think it was about as many chapters as the first one, but that last section where you learn Kat is a literal queen lasts a while.
And I've been roaming around in Yakuza 6 the past couple days before I play Kiwami 2. Eventually, I think I'll run back through them in order and try to Platinum each, but for now I just want to finish any substory content that interests me.
That last act feels like it was intended to be Gravity Rush 3 but they realized they would probably never get the chance to make that game and so stuffed it into the end of GR2, and I'm glad they did. It feels like they finished Kat's story.
I briefly entertained the idea of getting the Platinum for Kiwami 1...until I took a good look at the activity list (or whatever it's called). I love that there is so much you can do in that game but I can't imagine doing aaaaallllllllllll of it.
My Switch log said I spent 65 hours on Breath of the Wild. It's not my favorite Zelda game, but I must've liked it somewhat to have spent that long on it! :)
I never really got into Castlevania games. My favorite in the series is Kid Dracula. :)
From what I've heard, 65 hours is definitely the low end for that game's length. But man, I haven't even uncovered the whole map yet!
Good luck on the higher difficulties in EDF. At least you get some sweet loot drops the higher the difficulty.
I don't think I'd bother with the higher difficulties if I was playing solo, but I'm playing with some friends online and that makes all the difference 
Oh that's cool! I did that here and there in the series. Very fun times.
Castlevania is a tough game, man. When I was a kid, my older brother got to dracula but he massacred my brother. He strangely never played video games again.

I remember thinking that Skyward Sword was such a huge game (30 hours total), but that is NOTHING compared to BotW! It's a joy just to explore in that game, so enjoy it. Take your time with the story, there's no rush.
I'm on the Rito's Divine Beast right now. I just want to finish the game before the year is out lol
