Games Beaten

-Metro 2033 Redux (PS4)

Metro 2033 Redux in some ways feels old. It's a linear level-based game in a world of...open worlds. And of course the graphics show their age. But the narrative feels distinct from your usual post-apocalyptic tale and it plays well. The fact that you can play it as an action game (like I did) or survival horror is pretty cool. So while it didn't change my life, I certainly enjoyed my time with it and look forward to playing the other Metro games in the future.

Games Bought

Wow, what a light month! Our only purchase was Yoshi's Crafted World (Switch) and The Witness (PS4) was the one thing from PS+. That was it for March Surprised

Now Playing

-Yakuza Kiwami 2 (PS4)

Finally started this game. Feels good to be back in Kiryu's shoes again.

-Super Princess Peach (DS)

This is a very light but enjoyable game. I'm in World 7. I think Bowser's castle is up next.

-Destiny 2 (PS4)

Enjoying the Season of the Drifter. Gambit Prime is very intense.

-Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Switch)

Making sporadic progress on Spirits Mode

-Earth Defense Force 2025 (PS3)

I didn't get to play this much in March, so progress through Inferno with my Ranger continues to be slow.

Have you played The witness yet? I get stuck and unstuck pretty frequently. lol

Do you know people get “color sickness” from that game? I guess because it’s so saturated. I had never heard of such a thing before a friend told me about it.

I mean, It's got a cartoony look, but I've definitely seen more saturation. Maybe I'm not far in enough?

Maybe it depends on the person. I don’t think it’s very common, but apparently it has happened. From screenshots I’ve seen it does look darn colorful.

Not yet. I'm really bad at getting a PS+ game and playing it right away lol

I got Yoshi's Crafted World, too.  It's so adorable.  I think I still like Yoshi's Woolly World better, but Crafted World is still a lot of fun.

I love Super Princess Peach!  I wish it got more recognition than it did.  It was made by TOSE, who also did the Starfy games.  TOSE also programmed a BUNCH of other games behind the scenes.  You should check out a list of everything they've done.  It's pretty amazing.

I know! TOSE is like the shadow ninja of game developers

I like just wandering around the civilian area in Metro 33. Really has an interesting, desperate vibe.

Yeah, the world really pulled me in. I really wish you could have wandered around in Polis (the really big metro city) but you just find the one guy you need and get a text story sequence Undecided

I bought Yoshi's Crafted World day one, and it's just wonderful. Easy, yes--but it's so much fun and the entire craft aesthetic is so enjoyable to look at. The levels are very creative. So I hope you have a good time with it.

We haven't broken the shrink wrap yet lol but I'm looking forward to playing it. With a game like that, the novelty and creativity of the presentation is half the fun.

Been wanting to try the Metro games for a while now. I think I have several of them from Xbox giveaways.

And that first one is not too long!

I’ve been interested in the Metro games, but I’ve never played one. There is a new one out recently that looks good as well. I have so many games already I doubt I’ll have time to play one. #backlog

I know what you mean! I've had that Metro collection for four years, I think, and I just now played the first game.
