A Game Club basically works like a book club, in that every month we play the same game and discuss it every week. We don't need to finish the game, just play the first parts of it. Since many of us like playing games and giving and receiving feedback and most of us on here play games regularly, why not? We would all have to have access to the same game of course, which might be easier said than done.
These are some suggestions:
Demons Souls (PS3)
Dark Souls (PS3/PC)
Dark Souls 2 (PS3/PC)
Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9 (PSOne)
Resident Evil 1,2,3 (PSOne)
Mega Man 1,2,3 (NES/Emulator)
Etc..
Feel free to make suggestions. Preferably a Retro game or at least something easy to use emulator like NES, SNES etc.
Update: Okay. What about both Final Fantasy 9 (PSOne) and Mega Man 2 (NES) for the month of August? Lets vote or suggest more games...

I actually like your Demon Souls suggestion you already made. I havent played Demon or Dark Souls yet. I also would be down to play any of the final fantasy's. Id also suggest Wind Waker GC/Wii U or Kingdom Hearts for PS3/PS2.
Only ones I'd be able to do would be Mega Man games via emulator.

I can get into Demon's Souls and RE 2 immediately. I also have a copy of the first Mega Man, the Jap import.
The others are cool, but Dark Souls II and Dark Souls would be games I'd need to reaquire copies of.
Regardless, you can count me in.
You can opt in or out if you like or dont like the choice. Im not sure everyone has the same games and systems. This is tricky.
Sounds fun! It'd be smart to do a range (like, pick a sony and a nintendo game) just in case people have one system but not another.

Well, FF9 and Mega Man 2 are both on PSN I'm pretty sure. I could play those there. I'm pretty busy with EDF2025 at the moment, but I could carve out some time to get a few hours a week in on those for the club.
I don't really have any suggestions. I'm open to playing anything really.
Have you thought about Skype calling for the Club Talks?

That sounds realy cool. We'll keep that option open. I think it's a bit tricky getting everybody to play the same game due to personal time, even less time to schedule for a talk. I was thinking more like a blog or forum post for this. Maybe live chats too.
Also, keep me in the loop if you all decide on a Souls game. It would be rather awkward if I was left out of a Souls discussion, lol

Cool idea. USgamer is currently doing something like this and it's interesting to read their articles and all the comments from the people participating. They recently finished FF Tactics and are currently doing Shovel Knight (which I also happen to be currently playing).
As much as i like the idea, I probably won't be taking part, unless everyone just happens to be playing a game that is already in my backog (I've already played all the ones listed). I've got so many games I want to play that I really can't justify replaying any.
the Tactics series USGamer did was good....but this Shovel Knight one....they love it so much they want to sex it up, it seems like.
Surely there has to be some poor points to Shovel Knight...?
This sounds like an interesting idea. I'd be willing to take part. I really can't think of any game off the top of my head...ooh how about Castlevania series? I've never really played it, and I know its a series people love and might be willing to jump back into.
