I've been looking for that collector's edition in my local stores but no luck yet. I want to get Journey but it's $15 right now on PSN.

The actual game shows are neat as you know. I've been following GamesCon recently but it's unlikely I'll ever make a trip to Germany to go to it.

Bloodborne for sure. I'm going to play that again when I get to PS4. Another one I love the design of but gives me trouble.

Flower is made by the same folks who made Journey, and I have a CD collection of the games they made on PS3. I actually like Flower better than Journey.

I miss the days when I could afford to go to E3 and PAX.

I played Demon's Souls back in the day without really understanding what it was like. So yeah, I got really frustrated with it and dropped it very angrily. Now with years and years of hindsight, I think I would do a better job engaging it on its own terms...but if I'm gonna play one of those games, it's gonna be Bloodborne.

I just go to the smaller cons near me. Even those get hella crowded though. Cheap too. Retro Con at Oaks was $20 admission. Retro Con in Philly earlier this year was $50. We went to that a few years ago but it was a pain and so crowded by noon that you could barely move.

I'm very interested in reading about this topic. I just heard a Grammar Girl podcast on the use of AI in editing text, its problems and the way it works. I've also come across very similar opinions as yours on Reddit when I was there.

Any new tool depends on how it's used, but AI seems especially prone to be used for bad purposes. It's why I've been shying away from the internet, social media and anything online because of the constant spying, data collecting, and exploitative algorithms. I'm also trying to think of new ways not to participate in the current culture as a way of protest (not a very active pose, I'll admit). I used to follow reddit threads like r/anticonsumption and such like. I'm still searching for the right kind of community to be a part of.

And to your point about loss of real expertise and intelligence. In my limited exposure to AI, I try to not let a spell checker just fix everything for me. I stop and look at the correct spelling in order to remember it before correcting. I'm not really learning anything by letting the machines do all the work. In searches, I only use it for quick, simple answers to simple questions. Anything more complex and I'm digging deeper and avoiding AI as much as I can.

Where I live we basically just have Galaxy Con come through once a year but it's a very broad, general geekery kind of thing. My wife and have gone a couple times (we got to meet David Tennant one year) but it's just so big and expensive. I'd love a more games-focused event.

Any subscriptions services that I have, I just mooch off my brother. There's a library near where I live, but it's pretty small. I doubt they'd let you rent anything significant. I really miss the mom and pop video rental place we had in my hometown. It was called PayLess Video and at one point they had two locations in the same town!

I wish they had more big video game shows where I live. You think they would, but unless I don't know about them, there's not that many worth going to.

Been a long time since I've watched Knight Rider. Cool theme song. I dunno if I could stomach watching it now haha, well I could but I don't think it's worth my time.

It looked like a whole new game until I saw the web. Seems like a pretty great visual feast that will upgrade Ocarina of Time nicely. Not take it's place, of course, just give you some more of it.

I've liked some remakes of late like the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest ones. They made them much more playable, less grindy, and generally easier. I like "easy" of late. I hope I can finally beat Ocarina of Time with this remake.

Strangely enough, I've never been able to get into Pikmin.

I was very happy with the direct. Metroid Ravenous was enough to make me happy, but the 3D Kirby is awesome to see too. I also am interested in the Dandori Academy update for Pikmin 4, since that was such a great game. Anyway, hope you liked the Bit function!

Looks great. I won't be getting it, but I think for newcomers it's looking like a great way to experience OoT. It's one of those games that you must play at least once in your life, specially if you're into action-adventure games with puzzle elements.

No, that's fair. I see Twilight Princess in the same vein as Ocarina of Time, but grander in scale.

I'll get the Ocarina remake and I'll enjoy it. But I was more excited about the Link's Awakening remake over this. But then, Link's Awakening is my favorite Zelda game.

One good thing is that I never played Ocarina of Time to death like many others have. I played it through when it first came out and replayed it again on the Collector's Disc you got with Wind Waker, but that's it. I never even got the 3DS version.

My favorite Ocarina of Time memory actually happened many years after the game was released. My younger cousin got a used N64 and the Ocarina game. She wasn't as much of a gamer as I am, but she LOVES horses. But she was a little too young to make much progress in the game. So one day when I was in Alabama visiting them in the summer, I spent the day with her playing Ocarina of Time and getting her to the part where she could freely ride the horse. She was so happy. A few months later when I came back to visit at Christmas, she was still playing the game but hadn't made any progress. She was just happy riding the horse around. To her, Ocarina of Time was just a horse riding simulator and she was perfectly fine with that.

I always felt like Twilight Princess was like a spiritual sequel to Ocarina. I mean, I know it's not, it just felt similar to me. Oh man, can you imagine a Majora's Mask Switch 2 remake? Of course, Majora isn't my favorite Zelda either.
