Good to see you back and well. Hearts are serious business, if anyone doubts, just take a look at this - I recommend reading the whole story arc, just because it's fun :)
I think someone had posted an article about this game on 1Up waaaay back, but if I hadn't seen your post I would mostly likely never remember it.
the game looks way more disturbing than MK, it is somewhat surprising to see it rated as T. But anyways, the dev deserves it to be successful for the labor and creative he put in it.
Except on Pixlbit and on the webcomics I follow, I don't even risk reading the comments.
Depending on which site you are on, scrolling down to the comments is like taking a stroll through a warzone, if you aren't a friendly, you are an enemy. If you stance differs too much, then you are a freaking Nazi.
An impressive figure, now let's just wait the Xbox One's sales figure on launch and watch all the fanboys and fangirls kill themselves over it :p
The fun thing is, I thought Sony supported the renting and selling of games after watching this:
The irony.
Get well soon, man. Hope to see you around here in 2014 :)
Although I was already interested in purchasing Blacklist, the game surprised me with its quality. It takes Conviction aggressive stealth and improves on it, offering even more room to tackle challenges.
I still have to go through the whole story, but so far the plot has me interested too. The cast is likable enough and tension builds quite nicely.
A must-play for stealth fans, and a good entry point for those who wish to play spy.
Indeed, I kinda felt the same way about it, and I am still unsure if the feature helps in some way or it just adds to the problem. But in some level, the Gamespot staff does have the right to strike back.
Destroying every copy of a game is, I don't know, a bit harsh and insane... But in some cases, such as Shaq Fu, It's a moral obligation.
This kind of bullshit has even inspired a feature in Gamespot called Feedbackula, in which the discuss this stupid kind of backlash.
I wonder how someone I think it's okay to post such hateful comments, "defending" a game with a stupid "you suck" quip instead of saying something constructive, or just saying "I disagree".
I started following gaming news well after Yamauchi had left Nintendo's presidency, so I kind got to know more about him now then back when he was making Nintendo the company we know and love (most of us at least, I believe).
Rest in peace, and thanks for the hard work Mr. Yamauchi.
Though I don't think Gears 2 qualifies as an entry here, since it just refined what had come before, I think Horde Mode deserves being mentioned anyway. It was extremely fun, and a lot of games did get on that wagon.
Anyhow, excellent list. I can't think of any games of the top of my head to add here, but these 10 sure left a mark in the industry, for better or for worse.
Co-op modes usually mix things up so that the challenge is on par with multiple players. More aggressive enemies who now are immune to attacks that would kill them outright in the campaign... Sounds like Uncharted's Adventure Mode, but it seems to fit Far Cry 3 as well.
Good Luck, guys :)
I have never played it before, but seeing it is now available free both on IOS and PC, I think that may change :)
In a way I agree with you Ben. Depth can make up for a bad fashion sense. What is sad is that Kojima just seems to be capitalizing on the "sex sells" formula instead of working on how Quiet fits in MGS. The new entry is set to tackle some serious subject matter, but sexploitation doesn't seem to be one of them.
The character looks could have gone in many directions, but he decided that the bikini and pantyhose combo was ideal to boost figurine sales and to make cosplaying as Quiet easier, or in more cynical terms, to make more money and get free publicity. That doesn't sound as good character creation at all.
I have no problem with sexy characters, and I don't think we should vilely them. But the gaming industry needs to grow up a bit and realize that sexy doesn't mean just scantly clad women, and that striping them just for money is downright offensive.
I wonder if Kojima came up with his own definition for the word sexy...
Sexy: 1 - When applied to men and/or equipment means a sleek and practical design; 2 - When applied to women, near nakedness.
A damn fine point, sir.
I believe killing healers counts as a war crime, according to the Genebra Conventions..
I hate thunderstorms, only due to the fact that whenever the weather isn't 100%, my city's electricity distribution starts fluctuating and just goes out.
AC2 biggest flaw: You can't play with the Flying Machine at leisure :(
Great blog, I am glad for that Recent Comments tab, otherwise I would have missed it.
This is one of the most intelligent pieces of writing I've seen about this issue, and this kinda makes me sad. The lack of civilized discussion and surplus of hatred does a disservice to everyone.
I have my MGS HD collection sitting in my shelf, just waiting for me to get some sense in my head and play it. I did check the first minutes of Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake and it does seem awesome. It looks sharper than the original.
Those are some cool mountains. I was going to try and suggest something, but Joe got it already: A koala and eagle battle!
This one is looking sharp. Machine Games seems to be putting a lot of dedication to this game. FPS get a bad rap for being repetitive and boring, but hopefully The New Order will shake things u :)
If memory serves me right, Quackshot is great plataformer. With the extra feature of starring Donald Duck, it is easy to say it's a great purchase :)
