Tonight's developer roundtable has brought to light that players will be able to transfer all of their Wii data to their Wii U. Purchased goods from the Wii Shop Channel, namely WiiWare and Virtual Console games, as well as saves can all be brought over.

The method to do so is not clear at this time, but Nintendo will likely be revealing more information in the near future. An E3 interview revealed that Nintendo will be restructuring their system to support a more unified user ID to bind together purchases. This account could be unique to each user of the system or for the system at large - the details have yet to be finalized.
