Nintendo announced today via their Nintendo Week show featured on the Wii's Nintendo Channel that Excitebike is coming to WiiWare in just two short weeks.

Excitebike World Rally takes the principles of the original title and utilizes them in the latest title in the series. Players will be able to enjoy the game with a more isometric, fully 3D view. The game will also feature online play and Wii Remote motion controls in addition to the more standard NES-style controls.

Players will also be able to create their own tracks in the the Track Editor, a feature also available in the original title.

More information will be available next Monday, when the next episode of Nintendo Week airs on the Wii's Nintendo Channel.

I should hope this becomes a positive trend with Nintendo's old IP. Variations on the old classics, I mean.

Also, IGN's hilarious. They just love acting like they've got some very special news. :D
