Good morning Pixlpeeps! It is a gloomy with a little bit of rain morning here in what is usually sunny Southern California. The weather is perfect for soup and maybe actual hot coffee but I'm going to enjoy some ice cold water until I decide if I want to venture out and grab some donuts. So how is your weekend? I know you still want to talk Nintendo Switch (I'm kidding). Yes I'm glad Nintendo has their new product announced and we all have our opinions on it, but I'm going to wait a bit until more info is thrown out.
You know every once and a while the Nintendo Wii would see the re-release or remake of some unexpected PS2 title. I could never explain it it myself. These quickly turned into pun filled purchases. With many critics and gamers alike dubbing them "Wii"makes or "Wii"releases. Today's game is one such oddity and a strategy RPG to boot. Today on Bargain Bin Buys- Phantom Brave: We Meet Again (At least it avoided the dreaded Wii pun) A game I bought for $10.
Pixlbit Nation how are you on this this wet Monday Morning? Currently it is a nice 58 degrees and it rained last night in my corner of Sunny Southern California. This is the final week of Blog A Day and I have to say I might have some BaD spillover next week because I still have a couple of systems to talk about and one of them might be another 2 parter *cough the Original Playstation. Anyways Monday’s are usually reserved for games I’ve been playing but I’d like to get through the second part of the PS2 library so let’s get it started!
I haven't done one of these in forever! Oh, wait, I didn't blog at all for, what, six months? Something like that, anyway. Sooo....here's what I've been up to:
Well I've been failing miserible at updating this blog; there are a lot of things to talk about including this year's E3. First off, I'm currently looking for another job; it was nice working close to home but I wasn't getting my rate of pay and they didn't provide travel pay either. It was would have been nice to get one out of the two but that wasn't going to happen anytime soon. Epecially now that I find myself with vehicle payments and was buying my own lunch. I've been thinking about going back to another camp job; at least I won't be spending money on food.
Guess it’s that time of year for GOTY blogs…. Seriously, kind of snuck up on me this year! (may also have a separate blog for anime/streaming anime of the year. We shall see).
Firstly, anyone wondering about my past two blogs, I deleted them. I had an argument with someone that got out of hand and got the attention of the staff. Honestly, I acted like an idiot and shouldn't have done what I did anyway, and we were just two people who believed different things, and were passionate about it. I don't resent him or anything.
I played about 13 hours of Etrian Odyssey Untold [3DS] this week. I’m at 45 hours total since I got it on Oct. 1. I’m at level 43 and on the 15th floor of the third strata of the labyrinth. I like the Activity Log on the 3DS. You can see the number of steps you’ve taken; gameplay time by day, by week , or by game; and the number of notifications via Street Pass. I’m somewhat regretting setting the game to Picnic difficulty because it’s very nearly effortless. I feel the only way I could lose is if I did auto-attack on a boss and walked away from the system. I can’t bear to switch it though. It would change the whole experience. I laid my bed, now I gotta sleep in it.
Most of the week, I played Etrian Odyssey Untold. I’m up to level 34 in experience and down to level 12 in the dungeons. I’m playing on easy. Nothing has seriously challenged me except for this one Golem. It was on what I thought was a pretty routine side quest back to one of the earlier levels (the game periodically sends you back to earlier levels to fulfill a request by a townsperson). I was supposed to pick up a treasure but instead got suckered into confronting this giant Golem creature. It tasked me by healing itself every time I got it down to a low level of health. Persistence won out though. I used up all my items to keep my TP (magic points) up so I could activate skills to do the big damage. The fight got me to search in my skills for the highest damage ones for each character. So it helped me focus on the most valuable skills to level up. I almost wanted to raise the difficulty level in the game, but I know everything will get much harder and my progress will slow to a crawl.
Sorry I haven't been commenting much in the past two weeks. Been kinda busy in the real world. Bought my first expensive piece of art at my friend Kat's art gallery, will post pics when it's delivered. That was a day trip, she lives up the coast aways. Spent last Sunday at the Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival, Monday with my friend Claire from California, yesterday with Andrew and Carole from Wales, doing chores and packing for my trip to Maryland tomorrow, and going to a music party at my friend Mary's tonight with Claire, Andrew, Carole, Terry from London, and a bunch of the "local" folkies. Next week I shall sleep, lol.

I'm glad you asked that question! For me, the new Smash Bros. info from Nintendo was the most exciting part of E3. The new characters have me excited. I have been anticipating it ever since the info came out that it was in development months ago. First though, a history lesson!
It looks like the final entry in the Crystallis saga will allow Lightning to move around enemies in battle and utilize a clothes swap mid battle system like that of Final Fantasy X-2 dresspheres. I also noticed a tail being sliced off of one of the enemies after staggering similar to the Valkyrie Profile or Resonance of Fate Tri-Ace games battle systems. Not too surprising since they did work on FFXII-2. This new games looks like FF13-2 plus FF 10-2 dresspheres.
I've also noticed a lot of negativity around this game and it's existance. Just reading comments on a youtube channel or forum. If not interested in this game, why go and vent hatred for something you don't care about anyway? I feel like I'm alone in anticipation for this game. I'm curious to know what Pixlbits feelings are regarding Lightning Returns. I for one enjoyed the series and find the new direction refreshing. Am I crazy?
One area of concern is if you are only playing as Lightning the whole game, minus party of characters or pokemons, it might get a bit repetative.
Well I’ve officially broke Skyrim with my Fist-Build. My badassery is so immense that I was test running him and I managed to wipe out the entire towns of Whiterun and Solitude without breaking a sweat. Dragons no longer pose any threat to me. Giants and mammoths fall with ease. I’m pretty sure that I even saw a Bandit bow down to me in a cavern once.
Well a lot's been going on at the moment, my wife and I have just moved to Australia which is exactly the other side of the world and my dear old ma is not too happy about it, but hey a guy can only take so much bad weather which England has in spades! We decided on Perth (WA) and its absolutely amazing out here. It's fast approaching winter but the temperature is well into the thirties and the sun makes for a ultra relaxed attitude, though the price of stuff will take some getting used too, it works out to be about £10 ($15 Aus dollars) for a pint of beer! Great incentive to cut down though.
