Around this time of year, I like to make a list of my best games SO FAR, because usually the AAA titles are released later in the year during the holiday season, and the titles that came out earlier tend to be forgotten. So here’s when those games get their due. Keep in mind that this is my list only and no other outside opinions contributed. And if a game isn’t on this list, it either just didn’t appeal to me as much or I haven’t had a chance to play it yet. Ok with that out of the way, let’s begin!
Here's my "waiting for a car repair" blog about the 2011 games that I played relatively close to release date in order of Metacritic rating for that year. Also, I'm just noting the system I played the game on, not all available systems.
I'm definitely feeling a farming frenzy coming on: glued to the screen, not moving for hours, barely aware of my surroundings, forgetting to eat. It's on the verge of unhealthy obsession, but I just laugh about it and pull myself away at the end of every "weekend" and get back to work.

My game session was interupted by a car repair and now a rain storm keeping me in the library for a while. I don't mind though because the library is my favorite place. So, anyway, I've changed up my gaming plan to simplify it all and started playing a few new and old things.
Let’s end this year with one last look at reviews I’ve recently written over at GamerDad.com! As always, please click on the links and read as many reviews as you can, and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. Ok let’s begin!
The 3DS was released this year. Minecraft came out of beta. The highest rated games were Batman: Arkham City, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and Portal 2. Here's a list of what I put the most time into that year followed by stuff I played later and then a wish list.

I’d like to say this year’s been better than the last, but it really hasn’t. Even though it’s improved, we’re still having to deal with a lot of COVID crap. And then we found out my mom had breast cancer late last year and we had to deal with the surgeries this year. Luckily she’s cancer free now, which is a miraculous and wonderful thing, and I thank God everyday for that. But man it sure was rough for a couple of months there. You have no idea. Good morning Pixlpeeps! I just want to tell you my good internet friends, Merry Christmas (if you don't celebrate Christmas, Happy Holidays!) I wish you folks nothing but the best, enjoy the time with good food, good people, and good games....and then go back for more good food. I'm thankful that you let me ramble on about stupid things here, games that I've been playing for years, and whatever I may buy. Thank You! Also thank you to the good people that gave us a home here on Pixlbit. You guys/gals/little green folks in outer space are the true MVPs.

It’s the final Nerds Without Pants of the year, and that means it’s time to take a look back at 2019, a look back at the 8th generation, and a look forward to the 9th generation. It’s a short episode that quickly balloons into a normal sized episode for…reasons!
Beyond Borderlands 3 achievements; thinking of a very Switch Christmas; wishing, and trying, to find time for my DS; thinking about how to play PC games on my Xbox; these are some things on my gaming mind lately.
As I sit here looking back on what I’ve played during the past week I’ve noticed that I still haven’t really sat down with a “real” game, I mean I’ve wandered back into the F2P area of gaming, and to be quite honest it fits me right now. I really don’t want to jump into a full game where I have to camp out in front of my TV, remember things, and then if I don’t play it for a week I’m lost and lose interest. Right now I’m in a place where I want to jump in for a couple of minutes, play something and then move on. Here are a couple of examples of my couch gaming during commercials:
The year is already half over, so it’s that time for me to do my Best Games of the Year SO FAR Awards Show! Most of the big name games come out in the later half of the year during the holiday season, so sometimes the games that come out in the first six months tend to be forgotten. Well this is where those games get their due! Keep in mind that no outside opinions went into making this list, and since it’s my list, if a game didn’t appear on here, I either haven’t played it yet or it just didn’t appeal to me as much. OK with that out of the way, let’s begin!
Normally I do my Game of the Year blog first, and then my blog on what games in 2019 I’m looking forward to. But I’m going to switch it around this year like I did last time. Mainly because there are a couple of releases that are coming up quick, and also I want to try and squeeze a couple more 2018 games in to see if they’ll make my GOTY list. But don’t worry, my Game of the Year blog will go up soon after this one, like in another week or so. In the meantime, here are some games I’m looking forward to playing and reviewing in 2019. Granted there may be more as we get into the year and have Nintendo Directs and E3 announcements and such, but here’s some that I know right now.
So my good luck streak on not getting sick ran out this year. I got big time sick the other day, I was running a bad fever and I felt like I was dying. I am however better today. Fever is gone and all I have left is the runny nose and mild headache. Other than that Ive been pretty good, some updates as follows
So yesterday I had a Quick Hits all typed up (well almost) and I was going to edit a couple of pictures and then upload everything…and then I didn’t do it, so here we are lying on my back, still in bed and I am trying again. I figure I will Frankenstein portions of yesterday’s blog (maybe 90%) and some new content today. So let’s get started on this pre-Christmas Quick Hits.

Welcome, welcome, welcome, to the final Nerds Without Pants of 2017! We’re coming at you a bit late, but hopefully early enough for us to accompany you on any holiday traveling you’re about to do. So grab some nog and take your pants off, because it’s time for our annual look at the state of the gaming generation!
Man life does get busy sometimes! Sorry for not replying to comments from my June blog - it's been awhile since I have had time to just sit down and breathe.
I’m seriously considering switching to playing only small indie games. Full game experiences are so involved. Whole weekends disappear. I don’t know if I like that right now. But I’m going to finish what I started, and that is Lego Pirates of the Caribbean.
