Solitaire played with a mandatory five people, couch co-op, with one controller. This series is absurd. Who does this sort of thing? Apparently it's quite popular though. In this fifth installment you use the solitaire gameplay to fight mythological beasts and outwit a complex conversation system in an epic tale of desperate battles, betrayal and deceit. I would've loved it if I didn't need five couches for social distancing. I played the following seven games instead. 

The Sony PlayStation is one of my favorite game consoles of all time.  It had a major impact on the industry and on many people’s lives, including my own.  So I was intrigued when Sony announced their PlayStation Classic system last year.  Similar to the NES and SNES Mini Classics, the PlayStation one is a tiny little console shaped like a little PSX and has 20 games preloaded onto it.  So I was glad when I got it for Christmas last year.  I finally got around to trying it, so I thought we’d take a look at what’s on it together in this blog.

2014 was a great year for me, and a great year for gaming. Lots of great games! Daftman suggested to me that I make a list of games to beat for the year, so that's what I did. Actually, I made two lists: one for games I beat, and another for games I bought. I won't bore you by telling you the 73 games I bought last year; many of them were old games 'cause I love old games and used many of those for Retro Game of the Week. Some were fairly recent and just a few of them were new. Anyways, I beat 24 games in 2014, easily the most games I've ever finished in a year. They were all good games, worthy of being finished. Here they are, in the order in which I beat them.

A few days ago I was talking to someone about Rayman 2. the following day my copy of Rayman 2 Revolution sold on Amazon. Yesterday I blogged here about 4 Heroes of Light. This morning 4 Heroes of Light sold on Amazon.

I recently sold my PS2 copy of Silent Hill 2 so when I saw a copy of SH HD collection for $15 on the weekend I snapped it up. I still have SH 3 in mint condition but that's neither here or there. Hey I'm the guy who bought Rayman 2 on 4 different platforms. :D

Here’s just another collection of game reviews I’ve written in the last month or so.  There’s some good ones this time, so I hope you all can read and comment on as many as you can.  And thanks to everyone who read my birthday blog last time and gave me pretend birthday presents!  It’s not too late if you still want to give me one. Well E3 has come and gone, and even though I didn’t get to go this year, I thought I’d still write a blog about the E3 news stories that interested me most.  But first, you’ll have to put up with a little rant from me on WHY I didn’t get to go to E3 this year.  Sorry.

Ubisoft revealed today that Rayman Origins will released on PC on March 29, 2012. The title was originally released on the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last November and will also see a release on the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita.

Last week if you would've asked me what Rayman game you should play to get into the series, I would've unquestionably told you Rayman 2: The Great Escape. Today, that all changes with Rayman Origins. This gorgeous platformer manages to surpass a longtime favorite of mine with its skillfully executed level design and charming presentation.

Alright, let’s address the elephant in the room: Rayman 3D is a cheap cash-in port of the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2. No, the game has not been enhanced in any meaningful way other than the addition of stereoscopic 3D - and no, it doesn’t in any way actually enhance the gameplay. Yes, at times, I even encountered a few instances where the game completely froze up, thus forcing me to hard reset my 3DS. All of this aside, Rayman 3D is still an enjoyable experience - one that has lost some of its luster over time. Thanks to the circle pad on the 3DS, the game controls like a dream, and the 3D, while nothing significant, adds some nice visual flair, giving the game a bit of extra charm. All things considered, this release of Rayman 2 is the definitive one.

Just kidding. Rayman 3D is yet another rerelease of Rayman 2, the most popular and best received Rayman title in the series. While originally released on the N64 and PC, this latest 3DS version of the game is based on what's considered the best version, the Dreamcast edition. In preparation for this latest rerelease, Ubisoft has made some enhancements to the game to entice new and old players alike.
