Not much else than Hogwarts Legacy actually as it has totally taken over this week, retro games suffer, but there is at least something to mention. 

I decided to go strictly with games released in the 70s next month. This really limits the video game landscape for me, but I made a list, and I'll see what I can do with it. Here's what I got so far. 

It’s raining, I just finished my sixth book of 2024 Reading Challenge on Goodreads, and I am ready to throw down my random thoughts about whatever I played this past week and a half…GOOD MORNING PIXLPEEPS! Alright let’s see what I remember playing

In my year-long project, June is 1970s month. In video gaming this means Pong, Atari 2600, arcade games and various LED handhelds. 

Tune the wayback machine to 1978 and my first LED handheld game made by Mattel Electronics. All the neighborhood kids had one of these things: either baseball, football, basketball or hockey. There was even a soccer one, but I never played that, I was a baseball fan.

With the 2022 NBA Finals set to conclude this week (possibly tonight), now is as good a time as any to look back at Double Dribble- Konami’s take on professional basketball initially released in 1986. Like many of their arcade hits arcades, the game was forever immortalized when it was ported to the NES a year later. With its accessible gameplay mechanics and realistic presentation, Double Dribble quickly became known as one of the best sports experiences on the home console.

On Friday my friend and I took a trip to York, PA to go to Timeline Arcade. York is about 2 hours west of where I am. I only know this town because it's the hometown of the band Live who had some hit songs in the 90s like "Lightning Strikes". The arcade is right in the center of town near the courthouse. I accidently forgot to photograph the facade, but I got a lot of shots of the arcade cabinets and pinball machines I played.

It’s been a long time since I’ve updated you good people, heck it’s been a minute since I’ve been on here. Currently in Southern California we are under a heat advisory because it’s going to hit 113° and there is no way I’m going to be outside…I will probably be outside at some point today. Anyways let’s get started.

Games of the Decade: Expansion Pass #28/Blog a Day #3

Bagels with Cream Cheese and a side of leftover WingStop isn’t the ideal breakfast but it was tasty yet now I would like a nap and it’s only 10:55am. Let’s get productive before I give in and ruin this humid, hazy (lots of smoke in the air because California is on fire) Tuesday morning. Let’s get started with things before I forget. I may have a good rant.

You know what I don’t get? It’s 10am local time, there is a vehicle in the driveway, you know a lot of people are still stuck in their homes, so why doesn’t USPS guy/gal/whatever just hit the doorbell, drop the package and walk away? Instead they leave it literally on the Welcome mat instead of the nice hiding place known as the post next to the door like UPS guy? These are the same people who broke my other package from Amazon and instead of owning up to it, probably tossed it and deemed it as lost. Yes, this is how I am starting my Friday.

I finished up what I want to play in Golf with Your Friends and then dug into Dishonored 2 for a while. 

Yeah I was sorting through cards and forgot. Anyways here is a video that the SDSU Women's Basketball squad tweeted out a couple of weeks ago. I liked it and then I went and bought the single Love Come Down by Evelyn "Champagne" King which is one of my favorite songs that surprisingly I didn't already own. 

Is it good afternoon or good evening at 6pm California time? In either case hello Pixlpeeps! You thought I forgot to do a post today but I didn’t. I was working on my cards, lost track of time (I also sprinkled in some Netflix time in between card duties). Let’s get started so I can get back to playing with my cards.

Good morning Pixlpeeps! Apparently it’s Friday (I really should look at my Star Dates in the title) which means it’s Quick Hits. Since I haven’t been outside it’s really gonna be quick. Ok let’s go!

I woke up around 5:30ish and what’s on TV? Clint Eastwood’s Heartbreak Ridge. I own this movie, it’s one of my favorites and it’s on TV so why not watch. Before I went to sleep another one of my favorites The Martian was on. I had some good luck on movies.

Good morning Pixlpeeps! I’ve decided to start a Corona BaD because well why not. It’ll be a little something to help pass the time, and hopefully I stick with it because the goal will be to write one or two sentences, maybe talk about a game, maybe just be random, you know the usual. Anyways you good people are more than welcome to join in.

I’m trying to think back throughout the past week to see if anything sticks out and at first nothing popped into my head but as I was typing this I remembered a couple of things. Crazy how that works. Good morning Pixlpeeps! It is a somewhat chilly Friday morning here in Southern California and yesterday I made a comment about how in November the minute it hit 75° I was wearing a hoodie and jeans but yesterday it was 66° and I went out in a windbreaker and some basketball shorts. Crazy how things work out. Also windbreaker and basketball shorts is one pair of slides away from being super lazy, but I wore shoes so I was good. Anyways let’s get started with the things I remembered before I forget them.

Good morning Pixlpeeps! It is going to be a warmer than usual day here in Southern California, but for right now I have the heater going but eventually it will be turned off and I’ll let some of that mid 70s breeze on through. So what have I been playing? Well I haven’t started Gears of War yet, so there’s that, but I did entertain my younger cousin, a second grader who plays nothing but Fortnite with something he’s never seen before…a console. His mind was blown that you could play games on TV and I let him play some Nintendo Wii.
