Since today we here in Sunny Southern California is under a heat advisory (it should hit 104°) what better breakfast to have than Steak and Potato soup. Yeah that’s how we started off the day and now I am ready to try and remember what games I kinda played, and then later on in the day remember one or two that I actually enjoyed but it’s too late I already posted on here. That’s life.

OK, I know what you're thinking...

If you were to assume Crayola Scoot is a shovelware title not even worth a look, I wouldn’t blame you. But in this particular instance, you’d be mistaken. As it turns out, it’s a well done extreme sports title in the vein of Tony Hawk or Skate, with a hefty dose of Splatoon influence as well. With depth, variety, and a sizeable number of challenges, there’s plenty on offer in Crayola Scoot to bring in those that have been pining for a new skateboarding experience (though I’ll admit using a scooter is much less cool).

Pre-E3 Reviews!

So as most of you have probably heard by now, I’ll be going to E3 after a five-year long hiatus.  I’ve been going to E3 since 1997, and while I did skip a couple of years here and there, it was by my own choice for the most part.  But the past five years I didn’t get approved for a media pass because they said the site I write for was too small.  But I kept applying each year anyway and to my surprise, this year I was approved!  I don’t know what changed, but hey, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, right?  So we’ll see if E3 is still better than PAX.  Oh yeah, speaking of, since I am going to E3, I won’t be going to PAX West this year in August.  Mainly because I don’t have enough vacation time plus it’s really hard to take off around Labor Day where I work.  I will post my E3 coverage over at GamerDad.com when I get back, so please be sure to check that out after the show.  But in the meantime, here are some game reviews I’ve posted lately there.  Please click on the links and read as many as you can and maybe even post a like or comment or two.  I’d really appreciate it.  OK let’s begin!

Like everyone else here I've been watching all the goodies going on during E3, and for the most part it is underwhelming. I am expecting more from the biggest trade show for video games but instead I'm seeing a lot of the same games we've seen on older consoles back, and for all that is good why more Skyrim? I mean its slowly becoming Street Fighter II, with all the little upgrades, and hey its now on The Switch, and you can play it in VR. Ooohhh. I am excited over the new God of War game. I also liked the New Forza game, and of course Battlefront II. After that I was done with all the presentations. The new Marvel vs. Capcom game looked like a lot of fun but I own a couple of the previous games and I haven't been sucked into them. This game is a wait and see for me. I thought the name X-Box One X is dumb, the majority of X-Box offerings were destined for the bargain bin this time next season, some of the PS4 titles were iffy, and I fell asleep during the PC presentation. Other than the three games I liked, and the one I'm on the fence about, nothing of interest grabbed my attention.

As I’m trying to get back on a normal schedule I really wanted to not do a Quick Hits today so I can get some other random tasks done like finish my Ultimate Playlist and start on the shorter version of the list for my phone but since I’ve been slacking a bit the last couple of weeks it was better for me to just get things going. Sound like a plan? Good let’s get started!

Good morning Pixlpeeps! In about two minutes or so I have to flip over a record I’m copying to my computer so I will have to stop for a couple of minutes. Well that was fun, anyways I did some sorting over the weekend and I have five square slots in a shelving unit reserved for lp’s and out of the five I have either copied over, sealed copies, or already have the album on CD. I also have maybe two stacks of 20/30 ish on the floor that have yet to be copied. I’m excited because almost all of my vinyl will now be digitized. The one part I am not looking forward to is the shoebox full of 45s. Anyways the record talk is reserved for Friday’s blog entries and today is all about video games.

In about a week Street Fighter V will finally be out. Considering its one my most anticipated games of this year, you would think I would be foaming at the mouth excitement for this game, and I am excited, though not to that creep extent. In fact, there is one thing that's largely damping my excitement for SFV, its SFV well its coverage at least.
