It's fun to go down the Metacritic [MC] list, so I'm doing it again for the stuff I played in 2010.
I ripped through a lot of stuff this week, being impatient to get through it all, the slightest annoyance sending me to the next game in my collection. But, I had a lot of good experiences anyway. I'll break these 360 games into two categories, physical and digital only (or, Xbox Live Arcade as it used to be called).
I’ve been on a stop motion animation and Wallace and Gromit kick lately, thanks to watching the new movie on Netflix a month or so ago and playing new games and DLC based on the franchise. As the summer season comes to a close, it’s time for me to talk about the movies I saw in the past few months. There really wasn’t a whole lot of movies this summer that I wanted to see, so this blog may be a bit on the short side. I’ll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum, but there might be a few here and there, so you’ve been warned. OK, let’s get started!
1. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris: I finished the main story. I started looking for collectibles. The environments are really gorgeous in that top-down perspective that reminds me of Diablo a bit. The gameplay reminded me a bit of God of War even though it's mainly shooting and not hand-to-hand or chainblade-to-hand fighting. So I searched down some collectibles until I realized you had to get all the challenges in an area for an achievement, not just the collectibles. That requires a lot of replay doing things like only using a certain weapon, or beating a boss in a certain amount of time. I was tempted but didn't go for it. Maybe later.
I should've gone back to Battlefield 3 today, but that game kind of depressed me. So many realistic people gunned down in the street. I kind of didn't want to see more of that. So I tried out a bunch of stuff I got for free at one time or another in my virtual game collection on XBO.

Day after VDay, wooo! Candy hearts. I know people hate those, but the chalk dust tastes like tradition to me at this point. They're the most Valentine-specific candy I can think of.
Good morning Pixlpeeps! The end of the month is here which means everyone is hopefully getting ready for BaD. I like this time of year because it can be silly, fun, interesting, and the best of all new content every single day...except the weekends unless you really want to write during that time. Last year I did a 20 days of minifigures post and for this year I have an idea that I want to write about. I may have started planning it out but you good people will have to wait until Wednesday.

Hey folks, I’ve got a big announcement to make! This August, I will have been writing video game reviews semi-professionally for 20 years! Yup, it all started back in 1996. I bet most game reviewers don’t even last that long! So in honor of that, I decided to write an article about it, and share with you all how I got started, what I’ve done in the past 20 years, and some of my highlights and favorite memories. Oh, and I’d like to apologize in advance if this article sounds a little too self-absorbed and ‘braggy,’ as it is all about me. I promise I won’t be like this all the time in the future. But I figured that 20 years really IS a reason to celebrate, so I hope you don’t mind this, just this once.
So, there's been some E3 stuff, and I'm going to talk about it. If you want a better intro than that, think of some vaguely menacing threat that I'd usually concoct and then follow through with it on yourself.
Can you believe that 2015 is already over? What I like to do around this time is write about the best games of the past year. Keep in mind that no outside opinions went into the making of this list. It’s just my own picks. And if a game is missing from my list, it either didn’t appeal to me as much, or I just simply haven’t played it yet. Can’t play all the games out there, you know! Plus I do apologize if this list leans toward the Nintendo side. I don’t have an Xbox One or PS4 yet, so you’ll just have to deal with it. So with that out of the way, welcome to my Best Games of 2015 Awards Show!
Yikes, 2015 is over already? As they say, time flies when you frantically play games between family, work, and other life obligations! (That is the saying, right?) First up are all the games I beat this year and then how many I bought or somehow acquired (don't worry, I don't list those specifically). Be sure to stick around for the Golden Hippo Awards after that!
Life is full of mysteries. Who created us? Are we alone in the universe? And why did people love 2013’s Tomb Raider reboot so much? Don’t get me wrong, the title was not bad by any stretch of the word, it just felt like the textbook definition of mediocrity despite its glowing praise. While the game had almost as many issues as its sequel has microtransactions, everything wrong with the reboot was attributed to two core problems: Developer Crystal Dynamics wanted to turn Tomb Raider into Uncharted and Lara Croft into Katniss Everdeen of The Hunger Games.
Just in time for anyone anticipating the new Rise of the Tomb Raider, here comes Backloggers Anonymous with one of Lara Croft's older adventures: Tomb Raider: Legend. Before her franchise was rebooted in 2013, it was rebooted in 2006 as Lara traveled around the world in search of artifacts. Join us as Casey laments for past days of the franchise, Blake trashes the 2013 reboot, and Jamie gets excited over grappling hooks!
Things are starting to pick up for me as far as reviewing games goes. We’re getting closer to the Christmas season so hopefully I can continue the momentum in the next few months!
