This month, Nintendo is releasing Mario vs. Donkey Kong. It’s a re-release/remake of a game on the Game Boy Advance that came out about 20 years ago! It’s also the first appearance of the Mini Mario characters, an army of little wind up Mario toys. These little guys would go on to star in their own series of spin-offs. But those games kind of all run together because many of them look and play similarly. So I thought in honor of the new game’s release, I’d go over each one and see what makes them special, if only for a little bit. This Mario vs. Donkey Kong series also has quite a few games in its belt, more than what you might think. And the history of these games stretched back farther than what you might expect, too! So let’s check ‘em out!
Wow, 2023 has been an incredible year for gaming, one of the very best! And here we are at the end of the year, so let’s look back at some games, shall we? You guys probably know that I’m a big Nintendo guy. In fact, I don’t even have the other consoles (mostly because I don’t have time to play them all). This was a great year for Nintendo, we got so many fantastic games on the Switch. This year I beat a total of 26 games! (I was hoping to beat 30, but you know how it goes)
With Super Mario Bros. Wonder being recently released, everyone is talking about the new power-up that turns Mario into an elephant! I didn’t realize Mario was such a University of Alabama fan! He DOES wear red all the time, though! Roll Tide, Mario, Roll Tide! Anyway, Elephant Mario isn’t the ONLY elephant in video games, so I thought I’d talk about my other top video game elephants. So let’s stomp our feet and trumpet our nose! These aren’t in any particular order or anything, though.
15 Years of Super Mario Galaxy!
This is a games convention local to me here just outside Philadelphia, PA. It’s usually in a big expo center but this time it was in a Hotel with very limited space. There were no celebrities, no stage for a cosplay contest, and a very limited room for game playing with no arcade cabinets, only consoles. But it was better than nothing. I bought some stuff shown below.

I wasn’t sure at first if I was going to do a ‘best games of the decade’ blog since I wasn’t clear if the decade ends at 2019 or 2020. But then I looked at the last time I wrote a ‘best games of the decade’ blog and it was at the beginning of 2010, and it went from 2000 to 2009, so I figured I’d do one now after all. I provided a link to my last ‘best games of the decade’ blog because I thought it was interesting to read something I wrote ten years ago. So we’re doing it again, although it’s pretty much the games that won my “Game of the Year” award for the past ten years.
It’s that time of year again! It’s the Cary’s Best Games of 2019 Awards Show blog! Keep in mind that no outside opinions went into the making of this list. It’s just my own picks. And if a game is missing from my list, it either didn’t appeal to me as much, or I just simply haven’t played it yet. Can’t play all the games out there, you know!
As of January 1, 2020, we're entering a new decade in gaming (let's not go into pedantic debates about the.year zero here). It's hard to believe, it just seems like 2010, a time of Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, and Kinect, was just yesterday, and the world of the 2000s was still fresh in my mind.
Hey there, guys. It's that time of year again. I have really dropped the ball this year on blogging because I've been so busy, but I promise I will be more prolific next year (I'm already planning on participating in BAD 2020). So, as I do every year, I'll briefly mention the games I was able to beat this year. As many of you know, I'm a huge Nintendo fan, so these are all Nintendo games (or on Nintendo consoles), and some of them are even retro games (I'm fervently collecting SNES carts). In 2019, I was able to beat 18 games!
Since 2019 is, for all intents and purposes, over, I am posting my top 10 games of the year for 2019.

Well it looks like Nintendo's handheld systems are ending. With the announcement of the Switch Lite and no new games for the 3DS, I'm afraid that we are nearing the end of an era. So, I have decided to take a look back and see what made them so great, pick out my favorite games for each system, and pay some respects to all the great memories I have had with them.
The year is already half over, so it’s that time for me to do my Best Games of the Year SO FAR Awards Show! Most of the big name games come out in the later half of the year during the holiday season, so sometimes the games that come out in the first six months tend to be forgotten. Well this is where those games get their due! So another E3 has come and gone, and it’s another year where I was denied a press pass. Ever since 1996, I was going to E3 pretty regularly, but for some reason a few years ago, they stopped letting me in. And yet somehow I was able to get a press pass last year. But not this time! They may say it’s because the numbers of the site I write for are too low, but I’m beginning to wonder if it’s really because I’m just too weird for E3. And if that statement has you intrigued, then please read on for my unique reactions and commentary on things I read and watched about this year’s show.

A new WarioWare game has been recently released on 3DS: WarioWare: Gold. It’s kind of a ‘best of’ the series with over 300 games from the franchise. So in honor of that, I figured I’d post a blog about all the games in the series, as it is one of my favorites!
