I can’t believe I’m turning 50 later this month. In a way I’m a little sad about it because my life is definitely not what I’d imagined it would be by now. I’m still single and living in a one bedroom apartment barely making ends meet with a job I don’t like that much. But at least there are some fun things we’ll be doing this month. My dad’s birthday is a couple of weeks before mine so I’m taking him to see the Coyote vs. Acme movie. And then for my birthday we’re going to see the Rifftrax Mystery Science Theater 3000 movie. And then at the end of this month some of my other family and I are going to Austin, TX to see my old college campus after 30 years, and to also see my best friend who has lived in El Salvador for a long time, but recently moved back here. At any rate, even though it’s my birthday, I’ve got some presents for you! Reviews I’ve recently written over at GamerDad. Please read as many as you can and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two! I’d appreciate it. And in the comments section, feel free to give me a pretend birthday present, too! OK let’s begin!

Around this time of year, I like to make a list of my best games SO FAR, because usually the AAA titles are released later in the year during the holiday season, and the titles that came out earlier tend to be forgotten. So here’s when those games get their due. Keep in mind that this is my list only and no other outside opinions contributed. And if a game isn’t on this list, it either just didn’t appeal to me as much or I haven’t had a chance to play it yet. Ok with that out of the way, let’s begin!

It’s always nice to get to review a game I really wanted to play. It happens less and less nowadays. So as a big Bluey fan and genuinely interested in good games for kids, I’m glad I got to review this first game on my review blog list. So please click on as many GamerDad game reviews as you can and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. OK let’s do this!
This batch of GamerDad reviews I’ve recently written focuses a lot on Super Mario Bros. Wonder stuff, hence the title of this blog. Hey guys, I know PixlBit 3.0 has been something I've talked about for a very long time. It's been something I've made plans for, thought about for countless hours, but never could find the time or energy to really tackle the project. But lately, that's changed - I jumped in full force and I've been making some great progress. To help keep me accountable I figured it'd be great to share some screenshots with you guys and answer questions on stuff you may be curious about.
It’s time for my “Best Video Games of 2025 Awards Show!” Keep in mind that this is my list only and no other outside opinions contributed. And if a game isn’t on this list, it either just didn’t appeal to me as much or I haven’t had a chance to play it yet. Ok with that out of the way, let’s begin!
In the fall you get a lot of food with pumpkin flavors. I liked pumpkin flavored stuff before it was popular. But most of it now is just pumpkin spice. I really prefer just the plain old pumpkin flavor because pumpkin spice just tastes like nutmeg and cinnamon. Anyway, here are some pumpkin flavored reviews for you all. Please read as many as you can, and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. OK let’s begin!
It’s spooky season, and I’ve got some treats for you! No tricks! It’s game reviews I’ve recently written at GamerDad.com! About half of them are Pokémon related, so that explains the title of this blog. Also there’s a new Pokémon game that just came out. I’ll probably get it soon, as I did like the first Pokémon Legends game pretty well. Anyway, please click on the links to the reviews and read as many as you can, and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. OK let’s begin!
Remember those Tamagotchi virtual pet keychains that were super popular in the late 90s? Well they’ve never really gone away. In fact, back on the Nintendo DS, they had a series of games called Tamagotchi Corner Shop, and there were three of them! You ran little shops and would play touch screen mini-games to serve and help out other Tamagotchi customers. My brother Jeff and I were weirdly obsessed with those games back in the day, probably because we did like those virtual pets (Jeff was even a Tamagotchi for Halloween one year when he was little). Well, Tamagotchi Plaza is the sequel to those games, so of course I had to get it. There are a dozen shops for you to run, and two more if you have the Switch 2 version. I thought it might be fun to run through the shops in this game, so let’s go!
I'm definitely feeling a farming frenzy coming on: glued to the screen, not moving for hours, barely aware of my surroundings, forgetting to eat. It's on the verge of unhealthy obsession, but I just laugh about it and pull myself away at the end of every "weekend" and get back to work.
Mario Kart World was recently released as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title. I was lucky enough to get a Switch 2, thanks to help from my family. So let’s take a road trip tour at all the tracks you can race on in the game. So grab your road trip snacks and let’s roll!

I’ve been on a stop motion animation and Wallace and Gromit kick lately, thanks to watching the new movie on Netflix a month or so ago and playing new games and DLC based on the franchise. So I declared last week to be Wallace and Gromit Week at GamerDad! We looked at their movies, shorts, and games, so please click on the links and read them, too! I feel like I may run out of twin-stick shooters (and those closely related isometric shooters) soon and so I made a list of "blobbers" (games with a party of characters that move together) to check out. It fits my theme because it started in 1981 with Wizardry. Here's the list.
I dug into any Nintendo stuff that fits my brick-breaker/fixed screen shooter theme. Then I started a new game list and played what I could without spending anything. Then the usual backups.
