You know some mornings if I listen closely I can hear the freeway which is a couple of miles away. This morning as I was walking around the backyard it was quiet. It’s odd but at the same time I’m happy that it is just quiet. Good morning Pixlpeeps let’s get started on what Chris has been playing this past week (I just want to finish typing this so I can jump into a fresh box of cereal.)
¡Hola Pixlpeeps! Sorry I haven’t been around in a bit but things fell into my lap that needed to be dealt with. You don’t need to hear the details but we all have issues that need to get resolved and I’m no different but here we are so let’s get positive and talk about game stuff.
I played three games today: Minecraft, Horizon Zero Dawn and Crimson Skies.
Firstly, rapping has been insane. I made a rap/death/doom metal album, made a 38 track greatest hits.
Good morning Pixlpeeps! It is a breezy day here in Southern California, which is freaking awesome because it will only be around 85 degrees today instead of the 90s/low 100s. I turned off the A/C and have all the windows open to enjoy this. As you can tell my Monday morning is off to an awesome start.
Earlier this morning I woke up around 5am and couldn’t go back to sleep so as I waited for my alarm to go off I watched YouTube videos on the iPad. There are a lot of recent (to me they’re new) videos about people going out and buying everything video games. Since my local Goodwill now ships off anything of value to their major distribution center to be placed on their eBay like site, it has been tough finding games that I want to add to my library. It seems like folks who are late to the party either have to pay a lot more, or have to go find stuff at Garage Sales and Swapmeets but even those are starting to become tough. Heck my local swapmeet various vendors are selling what used to be $1-4 carts now for $10-15 and even some used games going for new retail.
Good morning Pixlpeeps! Monday is back and I am ready for the week. I can say that I am at 90% but I am a little unsure if I should hit the gym. I do like my treadmill time but I don’t want to aggravate anything. Maybe I’ll spend time with the Air Conditioning instead. So yesterday morning I spotted some game deals on and well $17 later I added 14 games to my Steam library err Digital Mount Backlog. I installed a couple of them right away including this one

I’ve been lacking this week when it comes to my usual posts, and replies here and I almost thought about skipping this edition of Quick Hits but I’m taking a break from playing some NBA 2K16 (my team is in the Western Conference Finals) and at some point I’m going to eat some lunch. So in the meantime why not update you good people on what’s been going on.
Good morning Pixlpeeps! I hope you good people had a wonderful weekend and are ready for the week. This past weekend I changed up my gaming routine a bit and I powered up my 3DS XL for some gaming, and to be shocked that the battery still had 70% of its juice since I last powered the dang thing up. Before we get into that let’s check out my progress in Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
So when looking at many YouTubers I follow, I realized that a large chunk of them are ones not too many people I know talk about. So I thought I'd give them some recommendations along with a few better known ones that I feel deserve more attention than they get.
Good morning Pixlpeeps! So it is Friday, and I have to run some crazy errand right after this so I might have to make a shorter Quick Hits blog…or maybe I can just type faster and not get sidetracked. Let’s see how that goes. Before I started my blog I like to check my favorite college’s athletic message board and well I had to write a response to some yahoo who along with a couple of other folks still think it’s the 1970s (seriously they do) and anything positive the University does is terrible. Let’s back up a bit. A couple of days ago SDSU released a tweet with a picture about something big coming to the Mesa. It kind of looked interesting because it was part of the Aztec Calendar. The next day another tweet with the outline of a football player, and something about big news at 10am. 10am rolls around and this video was uploaded to YouTube.
Grrr! Rar! Let’s all stomp around and pretend to be dinosaurs! Yeah! You know what else dinosaurs like to do? They like to read game reviews! (I promise that’s not why they went extinct). Most of us older folks have good memories of games like Wing Commander, and Strike Wing scratches that space dogfighting itch. It's harder to get a feeling for a game like this in the short time I spent with it than with some quick twitchy game, but there seems to be an interesting story here, some nice graphics and music, and, most importantly, fun dogfights. You can control your ship using the built-in accelerometer, though I prefer the virtual joystick (it floats so that you can touch anywhere on the left half of the screen). The missions seem to be mostly "kill all the bad guys," but maybe there is more variety later on. You can unlock better ships and play challenge missions for extra experience. There seems to be a lot of content, too, with both free and paid paid DLC available to download. Sure, it's not Wing Commander but for a game on my phone, it's pretty good.
It's friday once again and like last week let's move away from first impressions and cover a staple of Youtube: Gaming channels!
