It's-a Mario but where's the Princess?
From: Super Mario Bros.
Remixed by: brentalfloss
Brentalfloss has earned a modicum of fame on the internet for putting humorous lyrics to video game songs. This blues ballad is no exception. Brentalfloss is singing as Mario, trying to make his way through that first water level and find his princess. Very funny
This piece is for our friend Joe Step who just met and got autograph's from brentalfloss at the Screw Attack convention. Enjoy!
Brentalfloss is great. My favorite is his rendition of Contra. Have you seen that video? I'm not much for blues, but this song was pretty good.
I've seen it now lol. That's almost more wittiness than you can take in at once. I love the little things like shooting tomatoes lol
Good ol' Brentalfloss. Although I could keep up with his singing, I think a lyric sheet could have been a good help, as I didn't manage to get some parts of the song.
He did this one during his live set! Was one of the better ones for his voice, in my opinion.
Thanks for the dedication, man!
And it's on the CD I got from him and had him sign, too. lol
Very cool! I've listened to a few more of his songs and he's definitely kind of crazy lol but also quite funny. And I see what you mean about this one fitting his voice better than maybe some of his others.
Thanks to you, and Joe Step, I may find my way to youtube later...
You're welcome...? Lol. Nice place, youtube. Well, mostly. Well, depends. Have fun!
Don't hate me for this, but I never got the charm of brentfloss or his works. I understand how much work it would take to make a song out of something as random as an old 8bit tune, yet I didn't find anything entertaining about it. I even tried to watch some of his live videos from prior screwattack conventions but still it doesn't do much for me. Even with the ones where he's joined by that Keith Apricay guy (not sure if I got his name right.)
I can understand not liking his videos. They can be rather crude/irreverent/profane/what have you, but I think this song is different from his normal output. It's a humorous yet tasteful look into what Mario might be thinking in one of those water levels. I wouldn't even call it a parody. You're free not to like it lol (I'm hardly a brentalfloss fanboy). Everybody's got different tastes.
