Another ten on my list to play this year going in order on the Metacritic all-time best list for DS.
I'm on vacation this week for the most part. LJ and I went to Washington D.C. to visit the Smithsonian Zoo and Museum of the American Indian (also, accidently - 'cause we parked beneath it - the Bible Museum and saw the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit), but I manged to squeeze in some gaming on a few days here and there and last week, which I couldn't report on 'cause Pixlbit was down.
In conjunction with Metacritic. I'm numbering all my games with the Metacritic rank to give me a play order as I go through my collection. Its just my lately metagame. Here's my 1-10 with the Metacritic rank in parenthases.
This batch of GamerDad reviews I’ve recently written focuses a lot on Super Mario Bros. Wonder stuff, hence the title of this blog. It also has kind of a Spring theme, with lots of articles involving flowers, birds, and um, fish. So please click on the links and read as many as you can, and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. OK let’s begin!
Pengo was one of my favorite arcade games from the Golden Age of Arcades, right up there with favorites such as Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, Centipede, and Joust. I also had the Atari 8-bit version of Pengo at home.
I know I've kind of dropped off the face of Pixlbit for awhile, but I'm still lurking. I recently posted two videos to my YouTube channel. Check them out.
In conjunction with Metacritic. These are my first 10 picks for DS, going from best to worst on Metacritic.
This is the last of the OG Xbox games I played from my collection. It's all DS now for a while.
Just a quick blog after doing some trades before I head back to my friend's game room. Here's some stuff I got recently.
I kinda can't wait to do this sort of overview for DS games when I get there in a few weeks.
First, some new stuff, then the old stuff. Eight more down and less than a dozen left. I'm chomping at the bit to start into my DS collection.
Thanks to the recently released Mario Galaxy movie, I’ve got a bunch of themed articles about it along with my usual GamerDad game reviews. So please click on the links and read as many as you can, and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. OK, let’s blast off!
Idealized because I don't own all of these yet, at least, not in physical form.
Recently my wife and I got to go on a dinner date sans kids and afterwards we went to Draftcade, a local bar/arcade. It was a spur of the moment decision because we didn't realize it was so close to the restaurant we went to but I'm glad we went in! $10 each got us in and all the games were set to free play. It wasn't as big as I had expected but the game selection was excellent. Sure, I've played Donkey Kong as an arcade game before but they had both the sequels as well as Popeye! I got to play some well known old games that I had never actually played before, like Tapper, Dig Dug, Burger Time. They had a vector-based Astroids Deluxe. They had the orignal Mario Bros. and a bunch of pinball tables (I remain bad at pinball) and a decent smattering of fighting and beat-'em-up games.
I might have gotten confused, frustrated and dead in many of them, but I enjoyed them all. Who says you got to finish stuff? It's the journey not the destination, I say.
This is my list in coordination with the all-time best OG Xbox games on Metacritic. I'm playing games in order of MC rating instead of release date this year.
Happy Easter! I’ve got some video game Easter egg reviews for you all to hunt. When you find one, please click on the links and read as many as you can, and maybe even post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. OK, let’s begin!
I've chosen ten games from the Metacritic best of list to start my OG Xbox journey. Here they are.
Yes, I can't believe it, but I have finished going through all my physical NGC and GBA games this week. I spent the most time with Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon and Riviera: The Promised Land. Let's go!
I'm happy to report that the PixlBit 3.0 implementation has been smoothly sailing along. I've been working on it nearly every night that I can muster the energy to do so. The progress has been very satisfying to see and I wanted to take a moment to share some more screenshots and give some details on what's done and what's yet to be implemented. If you're impatient and just want to see a big gallery of screenshots, you'll want to check here.
