In the last part of my PS4 tribute blog, we looked at the games I enjoyed on the PS4 that were classic collections or remakes.  And on this one, we’ll look at the more AAA titles (well as AAA as I get anyway), as well as the indie titles on the opposite end of the spectrum.  Like I said before, most of these games you can enjoy on other platforms, I just played them on PS4.

I got through the last of my PS2 games, or so I thought. Here's what I got to this week. 

I recently purchased a refurbished laptop (nothing fancy, one of the Acer Aspire models) after having spent so many years without a laptop (the Samsung Chromebook I own still works but its OS stopped receiving support two years ago). I don't know why I went so far like this. The idea was not to acquire a gaming PC/laptop but something good enough to handle jack-of-all-trades utilities. So far, it's worked out well for me. 

Wow, 2023 has been an incredible year for gaming, one of the very best! And here we are at the end of the year, so let’s look back at some games, shall we? You guys probably know that I’m a big Nintendo guy. In fact, I don’t even have the other consoles (mostly because I don’t have time to play them all). This was a great year for Nintendo, we got so many fantastic games on the Switch. This year I beat a total of 26 games! (I was hoping to beat 30, but you know how it goes)

Hey all just stopped by to visit have been on the site in a very long time, a lot of you know me but there's also a lot of new faces, for those who don't know I'm a PC gamer and mainly on Steam,GoG, and Epic, haven't done a blog in many years and although I have been missing in action lol!! I'm going to do a few blogs, I have been playing Starfeild, Baldur's Gate 3, alot of F12023, so it's great to see alot of familiar faces, I still love pixlbit and look forward to catching up.

I'll be a little more active and at least comment some of y'all's latest blogs soon but for some strange reason I just feel grateful to Scott Stapp all of a sudden. 

So recently I played through Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe on Switch.  Knowing that I’m a huge Kirby fan, you’re probably wondering why I didn’t get this game back when it released in February.  Well I don’t really like paying full price for Switch re-releases and remakes, especially when I already paid for these games back on the original console.  So I waited and asked for it for my birthday, which is what I usually do for games I want to get, but don’t have to play right away.  So since I had already played this one back on the Wii, I decided I can wait and put it on my birthday list.  After playing it, I have to say that unlike a lot of other Switch rereleases, this one’s actually pretty good and adds a lot of extra content.  One of the extra things is an amusement park with ten Kirby mini-games from past titles!  And since I like to write blogs about games that have a lot of mini-games, especially if they are presented in a museum or amusement park, let’s take a tour of Merry Magoland!

Wow, I haven't stopped in here in forever! How is everybody?

A lot went on while I was blogging daily in February. I thought I'd let y'all in on every game-related thing, but it'll take a few blogs to do it. I'll start with Serious Sam. 

We’ve talked about Pokémon a lot in previous podcasts.  In fact, I’ve even said we could do a whole podcast about Pokémon.  Well, this is that podcast!  All my brothers were really into Pokémon when they were kids, but none so much as Jeff, so he’s with me again for this one.  Please click on the link and give it a listen if you can.  I’d appreciate it. 

During my temporary work layoff, I've sometimes visited a museum or game store/arcade. Here's the story in pictures. 

Another year has come and gone. 2022 was a great year for games! I was able to beat 29 games this year. Keep in mind that some of these were old games that were fairly short (such as the original Castlevania and Castlevania III for NES). There were some standout games this year. I'm going to talk about my favorite games that I beat this year (some of which didn't come out this year, but some certainly did). Then I'm going to give 3 awards: Best Game Collection, Best Soundtrack, and of course, my Game of the Year. So let's get on with it. 

First up, a flyby of my very modest tiny Xmas train set, then a neat VG relate gift I saw at Barnes & Noble, and then a little personal gaming news.
