So, that Acer Aspire laptop I blogged about last time? Screen doesn't come on. I've got to get this repaired (and hope that it doesn't cost too much) so until then, I'm using my trusty, won't-die Samsung Chromebook that I got back in 2017.
Only one more half-day game-day left for me this month, Monday. I've been deep into Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel this week but also other stuff. Here's 'bout.
I explored some short Game Pass games and dove deep into Halo 5 this week. Also, a recap of Retrocon.
Playtime included finishing Mass Effect 3 and getting hooked on replaying Gears of War 3. I touched on a bunch of others though.

I'm waiting for my car's oil change as I write this in the middle of my usual days off. It's killing half my gaming day, darn it, but it can't be helped. Here's what I've played so far this week.
In addition to Xbox stuff, I ran through a lot of 90s games to see what I wanted to use for trade bait, and what I wanted to keep. Here's what I have something to say about.
It was fun trying out a lot of NES games this month thanks to the NES collection on the Switch subscription service and a few available on collections on Xbox. I also had a few cartriges too for the original experience. Here's what I got to this week plus new stuff.
Much more than just Shmups this week but I played a lot of Shumps and finally had my fill of getting beaten down. I think I'll put the Shmups aside for the rest of the month. So I've also been exploring games of the late 80s both from hits lists and my own lists. I've got the Switch, Retron 3 and Xbox Series S all running and sourcing whatever I can find. So here goes.
Quite by accident I started playing this for a Game Pass rewards quest. I'd played it before for the same reason but didn't stick with it. I wondered what I was thinking because I'm really liking it now. It's currently my goto daily achievement game for Game Pass rewards. I play until an achievement pops and then move on to other games. I'm not using a guide or looking at the achievement list either. I'm just playing for story and adventure.
I remember this year mostly for the being disappointed with the World of Warcaft MMO. I wanted another another strategy WoW. But there was also the release of the DS, which got me back into handheld gaming, and cueing up for my first midnight release for Halo 2. The rest of the world was buying GTA: San Andreas and Pokemon FireRed/Leaf Green, numbers 1 and 2 in sales respectively. Half-Life 2 was a notable winner on Metacritic. Here's some stuff I played and want to play.
Wed/Thurs is my weekend right now, so that's when I do most of my gaming. This is what I did this week.
I played this on Game Pass a while ago and beat the main story, but I didn't do any major work on the collectibles and other tasks thinking they were too tedious. A challenge for Microsoft Rewards points brought me back to the game, and I found most of the side missions and collectibles not as difficult as I thought and nearly cleared everything in the game.
I revisited this 2006 PopCap game on Xbox Series S and discovered I hadn't got all the achievements. Weird. So I attacked this thing with the hunger of a shark and got pretty close to completing everything.
After ejoying Halo Infinite's open world exploration, I decided that was one of my favorite things in games, and so I dug up an old series to get back into, Just Cause.
All done with Halo Infinite. I wasn't too thrilled with returning to Ratchet & Clank for some reason, and so I started clicking the "surprise me" button within the sort drop-down menu in my digital library on Xbox. Here was the result.
I took a few short breaks from Halo Infinite, but my friend and I keep finding more things to do in it.
Every time I start up the Xbox I first check for any rewards points I can get by watching videos or playing certain games. This leads me to try a lot of stuff and sometimes find a new favorite. Here's what I played recently before long sessions of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands.
I set up my Disney Infinity on my Xbox 360, and played some Immortals: Fenyx Rising and Pillars of the Earth. Pics first!
Pac-Man World: Re-Pac was recently released, and it’s a remake of Pac-Man World, a 3-D platformer originally on the PSOne to celebrate Pac-Man’s 20th anniversary. Pac-Man World may not be one of my favorite Pac-Man games, but I have a lot of special memories about it that I thought I’d share with you in this blog. Plus my opinion on the remake, what has changed and stayed the same, etc. So grab a bowl of Pac-Dots and let’s get chomping!
