Welcome to a special Nerds Without Pants! Eric Peacock from the Soundtracker Podcast joins us for the first time to talk about pretty video game music, his video game origin story, and much, much more!
So yesterday I was sitting in the hospital lobby (no worries my family member was getting a checkup in the doctor’s office that is next door, and I don’t like sitting in that waiting room) and I swear I spent two hours playing that Gem War game on the Switch. Yes I spent $225 on a console so I could play a freebie game. I swear. The time did go by fast and I hit the orb lottery by getting 5,000 as a reward so I maxed out my four characters and I will most likely do the same with the other characters I have so I can actually start mixing and matching lineups.
Well Happy Star Wars Day Pixlbit Empire! Since it is May The Fourth I changed my Facebook Profile Pic to my Star Wars version of Game of Thrones (how good is this season?)
Pixlbit Nation how are you doing on this Tuesday morning? I decided to skip my usual Monday morning blog because there was a lot on my plate and I didn’t want to dedicate only a bit of my attention to my latest entry. I had a project that needed to be revised and it took longer than I thought, and I got to spend the afternoon at the car dealership getting the oil changed. The only positive to this was that I had free Wi-Fi so I could keep up with what was going on in the Twitter and Reddit Universe (Their big TVs were airing reruns instead of the news coverage going on in Baltimore) so the Internet was keeping me up to date. Anyways over the weekend I spent time with just a couple of games, and the majority of that time was with one tablet game.
Good morning Pixlbiticans, and how are you good folks/little green men in outer space doing this morning? For those of you wondering it is a nice 70 degrees here in Sunny California, but we are expecting some rain this week so I need to get all my running around out of my system before then (So Cal drivers have no idea to handle sprinkles and people become crazy.) Anyways how was your weekend? Did any of you good folks decide to hit Record Store Day? I decided against going the morning of because the records I wanted weren’t worth the trip, but there was one I album I forgot to mention that would have been and that was the Lego Movie Soundtrack. Yep I thought about it, but in the end I wasn’t going to open it, and having it because it was tied into Lego wasn’t a good enough reason to make the trip to the mom & pop. I might go later on this week and most likely there will be some left over RSD like last year when I bought a bunch of 45’s that were on sale. While getting my pictures ready for this blog I noticed that my iPhoto account needs to be cleaned out because there are a bunch of screen shots of various games that are just taking up space. I’ll have to do this later on this week. Anyways I really should get started because I just got another project that needs to be started.
Im really fustrated with this game and Im about to uninstall it. I know free games kind of try to rely on paid microtranscations but the Family Guy game gets ridiclous. I began to get fustrated when they literally gave me a quest that requires me to buy something with actual money. I wiped it off and just have left it where it is on my side menu. Then throught the circus I finally made several connections. Several of the characters are locked behind clam buys which requires actual money as well as items that would have given me the rest of the circus items needed to make Peters clown outfit. The only free way is to get the clowns which dont pop up enough, oh and there is only one item you can buy with coins from the game to get the cotton candy item but thats it. Games normally dont overkill it like this even for free to play. This is ridiclousness so if that sort of thing annoys you do not download the game, just avoid it.
I'll use the first line here to let everyone know this blog is (mostly) depressing, So fair warning.
