I already told you I bought a new PS3 to replace my burned out launch model. The old one had a 750 GB drive in it that was almost full but unfortunately Sony does not allow hard drives to be moved from one unit to another intact. they must be reformatted.
I finished Embassytown by China Mieville. It took me six weeks but I did it! Don't get me wrong but in the end it was a good story, just a tough slog through his dense prose, made up words and constant repetition. Very draining but in the end I thought the story and the ideas were very good.
Pixlbit Nation happy Blog A Day #20, where llamas are black and white and dresses are all kinds of black and blue (you white and gold folks are crazy.) Today is the end of BaD which is kind of sad because I liked writing something every day, reading your stuff (again behind, sorry) and we all learned something new, found something interesting, and overall had a good time. Yesterday I went over my original X-Box games and it make sense to continue with Microsoft for today’s edition of Blog A Day, so welcome to my 360 Library. Where are my manners? Hello Pixlbit how is your Thursday treating you? I have to say so far my Thursday is going well. I took in the new episode of Arrow last night and this was the first time I actually watched an episode as it aired. Before that it was all Netflix and CW App. The one disappointment I do have is that my cable doesn’t offer the CW in HD. Blah! Anyways enough of my show based loosely based off a comic, it’s not Quick Hits so it’s all video games! Let’s get started with my 360 library.
I miss Game of Thrones on TV. I'm glad The Walking Dead is back, although I was a bit disappointed with the latest episode. I would have liked more closure after then ending of the last season, but as the show goes, death doesn't really matter and it's just shuffling along without a care. Back to Game of Thrones, the gap between seasons is way too long. I missed out on the Telltale games mostly because I prefer to play them all at once when they all come out together in a bundle. I might have to jump in early to get some Game of Thrones in my veins.

Pixlbit Happy Tuesday! For you East Coasters again Stay Warm! As the Blog A Day rolls on it is time to get back to my Game Collection blogs. For today I am going to skip around a bit and go with one of my favorite handhelds that seems to get a lot of hate because of a perceived “lack of games”, and that is the Sony Vita. At first I was a little hesitant to purchase a Vita because of the nub problems I had with the PSP. I loved the PSP but the nub issues soured me a bit but I think once I either buy replacement nubs for both PSP’s (1000 and 3000 versions) I’ll be happy.
After Dragon Age 2 underdelivered, Bioware seemingly went on a mission to do the exact opposite of that game with Inquisition. There were too few areas to explore? Inquisition will have big areas to explore like Bethesda RPGs! There wasn't much connection like with Mass Effect? Inquisition will have Verrick and Leliana right from the start while revealing how all the big Dragon Age players/fan favorites are connected to this plot in some huge way for part 3! Dragon Age 2 wasn't about anything? Now you're fighting a dark being trying to become a god!
Allgame.com, a database of video games, easily searchable, and full of information about every game for every system, is shutting down on December 12th.
I would call Azure Striker Gunvolt two things; one would be the perfect replacement for a lack of a new Mega Man X/Zero title, and the other being a very meaty 3DS eShop release with high production values. With easy to understand gameplay, a fantastic graphical style and a slew of abilities and optional gear to collect, Azure Striker Gunvolt is a great call back to the 16-bit era of action games and an all around great game despite some design flaws. It even comes with the free game as well!
About a week ago I bought a SSHD a fusion of a SSD and an HDD, the reason for this is not only was my 2 thirds full drive acting sluggish it was also glitching in small but noticeable ways.
We know we will see Halo Guardians, Uncharted, Sunset Overdrive, Far Cry 4, Batman: Arkham Knight, and so on at E3. I am nearly content with what I saw of Witcher 3 and Destiny but games like Far Cry 4 has to have a big reveal if its truely coming this year. Uncharted and Halo Guardian are way up there though but I don't expect to hear everything about them since they have another E3 presence in the future. I will start off with Final Fantasy VII remake. I am a huge fan of the game but in some ways I want it to come to just have closure. I feel it will come be it five to 10 years from now or not but its a waiting game. Of all the remakes that continue to happen, it is the one that people clamor for the most and the most deserving. With that said, its not really ever on my mind because I am not expecting it anytime soon. It is a no-brainer as cash cow and if Square Enix is listening as they said they now are, they will deliver it at some point.
Well, it was a long time coming, but I reached my life-long dream of beating Final Fantasy VII last night! So why is this a big deal to me?
So doing a write up on Tactics Ogre may be a little un fare do to the fact this is the best game I have ever played to date, no its not the prettiest, and no its not the best story and with that you may be asking then why the hell is it the best game you ever played, well its simple its the most tactical strategic game to date and showed every game company how to do it right. Now you may think that Final Fantasy Tactics started this genere but the truth is Ogre Battle was the first attempt and although good it wasnt a true turn based strategy game, first iff you moved in real time and when battles occured with the famous ( fight it out ) phrase you really didnt have control of the fighting, you pretty much set up the formation then use the tarrot cards to give you the advantage, but then they released Tactics Ogre which captured the feel and characters of the Ogre Battle series but gave you the turn based strategy that we all love and know today.
After getting a pretty restful sleep, the first in a long time, I finally came to a conclusion about how to end BaD...by just ending it. You know all avaunt guard like. Just an instant cut to a black screen, no "the end", no credits, and more importantly none of that weird feelings you get after watching an avaunt guard film. What ever an avaunt guard film really is. Look I'm happy that I did 28 days straight of blogging but its so nice to end now. Maybe its because my life is fucked up right now but I just need sometime without the pressure to keep going. Of course, all of this pressure came from me, including my slightly stupid decision to cross post all of my BaD on 1UP (which is pretty active by the way). It wasn't as fun as last year's BaD, which was only fun until 1UP's sudden closure, I'm still happy I did. And made and met a bunch of new people along the way too, which is always a plus. So thank you everyone for reading and commenting. Hopefully I'll see you all next year, which I hope will be better than this year.

Well the highlight of my week happened at work on Tuesday. First my four and a half month contract which was to end on August 30 looks like it's being extended, maybe for another year. (fingers crossed).
