I had a really good time with Xbox 360, or 3tricksy as I like to call it, this week. This is what I got to in my journey through all my 360 games.
2013 is really the start Console Generation 8, but to me it's still Gen 7 because the Xbox One and PS4 came out late in that year, and I didn't get either one until maybe a year later. Yes the Wii-U was out in 2012, the 3DS and PS Vita in 2011, but it really felt like Gen 8 fully to me in 2014. So this is the last year I'll review until I get past all the Gen 7 systems in my retro journey this year.
I can't seem to find my draft of this blog right now, so I'm rewriting it hastily and with much less content due to time limitations. In any case, this is 2012, the stuff I played during Console Generation 7 and mostly not later, because a lot on the Metacritic list I played years later or literally in 2026. Let's go.
It's fun to go down the list of best of all time on Metacritic and make a personal list of favorites. Here are mine for the original Xbox.
What if I could return to 2012 and do it all over again? What one game would I buy each month of the year? Here's what I came up with.
Okey dokey. Here are the last titles I’m grabbing from Metacritic. These cover all the games I want to play (or play again) with a 90 rating.
I've been making a list of games I want to play this year. I write down games coming only a month ahead because release dates are usually solid by then. After that I rate them by how much I want to play them. The highest rated go to my Gamefly que. Two months in and I don't have a five star, or "must-play", game yet, until now.
I decided to rent again. I just don't see how I'm going to afford buying stuff day one, even if I trade them in later. I think I will buy anything that's only available as a download though. They're usually smaller titles at cheaper prices anyway. So onto my most anticipated titles of 2018.
Let's get the self promotion uot of the way. I'ma be on the Nerds Without Pants episode coming up, and I had a blast. Great crew, great chemistry as you know, looking forward to hearing the finished product. Maybe the longest ep they've done but oh well xD.
Jumping around quite a bit this weekend. First off, pickups. I got that new Pikmin amiibo and the NFC reader/writer for 3DS, and Disney’s Bolt for $10, all on my trade-in money. I wanted Batman Arkham Origins too but Gamestop wanted $20 for the Xbox 360 version. No way! Here’s a pic.
Another year in the bag! 2016 broke new ground in the "Whaaaaa-! It's already over??" category. Somehow I managed to play some games in there, so let's take a look. First up are all the games I beat this year and then how many I bought or somehow acquired (don't worry, I don't list those specifically). Once upon a time, Halo used to mean something. Halo was the game which revolutionized the first person shooter genre on consoles, offered mechanics that developers still copy to this day, and was the unparalleled king of multiplayer games outside of PC. There were first person shooters and then there was Halo.
I haven't been blogging much lately. That's partially to do with limited internet that is slow I feel like punching a puppy, work, and just general laziness. Also not feeling like I have anything to say. But I feel I'd better check in anyway.
I know I'm a tad late getting this in, but I've been seriously busy at work...I'm on a 10-day stretch currently, with Wednesday being my day off, pending.

Hello fellow people of Pixlbit! I can't believe it's almost been a month since I've been on here. Just checked the last time I posted something and it was on my first day of school. Since I started, I've been doing a s*** load of homework and papers. But I still made time for games of course! So since I started school I've bought a lot of games.
I've been in a gaming slump all summer, and most of the spring, as well. I think I might have played a little Pinball Arcade, but that was pretty much it. My poor consoles sat, neglected and collecting dust, until last weekend. I was stuck at home due to mechanical failure of my normally (until this year) reliable 1999 Subaru Outback. I was also very bummed out about this because it happened on my way to my gramma's 90th birthday party, which I'd made them change the date for, by the way. As I looked around my small living space, I realized that the dust bunnies were taking over. I hauled out the vacuum cleaner and went to town, until I got to the TV stand. Once I got the TV, stand, and consoles clean, that was the end of the cleaning spree.
Bored on a Friday night, so I figured that while my son monopolizes the living room telly with his addiction to the Wild Kratts cartoon, I'd catalogue my exploits thus far in the year. Hi guys, this won't be long, but it's just an update to what I'm doing and what's to come.
The reason why I have emphasised mod is because it implies that a modder added textures or tweeks to a game. TheWorse just unlocked hidden files from PC version of Watch Dogs and enabled them for anybody that would like to use them. Granted they have the processing power to get those graphics seen two years ago at E3. With SweetFX, it changes the shading quality of the game and from my experience does make the game look nicer.
