I only have a few here I put on my must-play list, but I like to look at everything anyway and perhaps try something new if I can find it for cheap enough. Remasters are also of interest since sometimes they vastly improve the experience. So this is Metacritic's top PS2 games 26-50 with comments.
Lots of stuff this week, but it all comes down to Farm Together 2, which will be my friend and mine's obsession for the coming weeks.
Pokemon finally got topped in sales by Grand Theft Auto this year with Vice City #1 and GTA III #3 in the U.S. . Critical acclaim went to GameCube's Metroid Prime and Zelda: Wind Waker. The Sims topped all-time PC sales beating out Myst this year. Microsoft bought Rare and Gametrailers began online. Remember Gametrailers? I used to check out that site all the time. Now for games I wouldn't mind playing again or for the first time.
I played a lot of this Greek Mythology action game last month. Puzzle elements eventually wore me out, but I enjoyed everything else.
Alright, games be gettin' me outta control again, but I have a solution: narrow it down to one game I would buy day-one at full-price per season. I reserve the right to increase the number of games if I'm really, really excited about them. So, here's my summer 2022 list with some reserves (because I have them free on Game Pass or are free-to-play). Then I'll get into what I played on Thursday before I came up with this list.
Over the years, there have been many different types of cartridge software released. Where music and video media (eventually) became standardized, each game system had its own form of storage media. In addition to carrying interchangeable game software, companies tended to make the design and appearance of the cartridges themselves distinctive as a marketing gimmick. Most of us have memories of having game cartridges in boxes, not to mention blowing on the edge connectors when our games glitched out. So here's a brief overview of various game cartridges throughout history. This is not an exhaustive list.

Not Dairy Queen, although I could go for some of that right now, but Dragon Quest. I played a little bit of Dragon Quest XI on my PS4 today.
Final Fantasy has long been a favorite series of mine, even if I am woefully behind in actually playing them. I haven't worked all the way through that first Ultimania book but it's been a treat so far. I'd love to get the other two. My wife found that FFXIV book somewhere...a garage sale, maybe?...for a couple bucks. And the Yoshitaka Amano books were both given to me. I love his distinctive style. Nothing else quite like it.
For a while there, I had forgotten about being able to save video and screen shots on Xbox. I'm back at it though. Here are a few recent ones.
As of January 1, 2020, we're entering a new decade in gaming (let's not go into pedantic debates about the.year zero here). It's hard to believe, it just seems like 2010, a time of Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, and Kinect, was just yesterday, and the world of the 2000s was still fresh in my mind.
Hey there, guys. It's that time of year again. I have really dropped the ball this year on blogging because I've been so busy, but I promise I will be more prolific next year (I'm already planning on participating in BAD 2020). So, as I do every year, I'll briefly mention the games I was able to beat this year. As many of you know, I'm a huge Nintendo fan, so these are all Nintendo games (or on Nintendo consoles), and some of them are even retro games (I'm fervently collecting SNES carts). In 2019, I was able to beat 18 games!
The first week of September 1999 was a busy week for Electronics Boutique, Software Etc, and all the other video game retailers at the time. You were in one of two lines, or perhaps both. One was for a new console, the Sega Dreamcast. The other line was for one of the most anticipated games of the year - Final Fantasy VIII. I was part of the latter group, excited for this game having played and replayed FFVII.
