I played another full day of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel continually in co-op with my buddy Mark. I bought the season pass for the upcoming four DLC packs, topped 50 hours playtime, got to 26 of 50 achievements, and begun True Vault Hunter Mode, which is just a harder difficulty replay of the game.
I didn't have much exposure to the first Borderlands game. Aside from hearing "It's got mad LEWTZ!" I didn't know anything about the game. It was released about a year before I got back into gaming, so I missed the fervor that occurs on any game's release. However, the sequel was released nearly 2 years ago. And I was around to hear about it. I actually got fairly excited and hoped to play it with an old friend of mine. However, with varying schedules, it quickly fell to the wayside.
E3 2014 is about two weeks away and I’m sure that all of you are as psyched as I am. As many of you are watching like a dog for certain titles I’ll also keep an eye out for certain announcements, especially Nintendo’s E3 Direct.
Well I had my doubts but you can't argue against video footage of actual gameplay. I have to say I'm excited and the new classes look inteseting. The best part is it will drop this fall. So what do ya'll think?
Hello all! I actually had a plan for this blog but decided to do like I always do and just wing it. Which means another disjointed spastic blog that I will badly edit and shamelesly post anyway cause I'm lazy.
Lately this has been the only day I can play games with a friend of mine. We play from 3pm to 10pm, not really enough time to make a whole lot of progress in a full console game, but ok for smaller games like those on XBL.

For the second week in a row, PB & Jason is here! Issue 126 starts with a rant against the upcoming cloud-based Pokémon Box subscription service and follows with a very long-winded rant about the direction Gearbox Software is headed. Mix in a dash of insight for Nintendo's new sales strategy for Wii Sports Club and a bit of GTA V and CoD:BlOps2, and you've got yourself a podcast! Tune in! Leave a comment! Send an email! So I just wanted to first say that I was angry at how Square handled the release of FF14, but this holds no bearing in how I feel about the game itself. This is my first time playing an MMO and the fact that it is in the FF universe is just too cool. Since getting in I have been really enjoying it quit a bit. So I hope those who were put off by the initial problems at release don't completely write this game off. Square Enix has not sat idle to correct the situation. They are currently adding new server worlds to the Europe/ North America region. I'd say give it a month and this game will be where it needs to be.
Well its late and instead of rewriting all this in my own words I am simply reposting what was at the Borderlands 2 group page on facebook. These were anounced at an event in Australia on the 17th. I am actually excited and distraught about the lv cap raise. Just barely got my Siren to lv 60, and I still got three more characters sitting at 50 and my psyco is only lv 32.
Anyway here is the news.
A while back Nintendo aired one of their Nintendo Directs and while they showed some cool stuff, they showed something that I didn't see coming but already expected to happen at some point: Nintendo and SEGA have a 1 year partnership for the Sonic franchise. What does this mean? It means that any and all Sonic games released this year will be exclusive to Nintendo platforms only. They showed a new Mario and Sonic title called Mario and Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics (which yes, is a mouthful but it's in Russia which I don't care for the long title), Sonic: Lost World which better live up to it's name and have dinosaurs, and an unnannounced project.

In this week's PB & Jason, a few blogs are invaded, specifically Nick's "Ask Me Anything -- Volume #2" and GirlGamerBritt's "Replay Hell: Final Fantasy XIII (Yes, I'm going there)." Beyond those blogs, talk continues about Square-Enix's problems, courtesy of Coolsetzer's comment last issue, along with discussion about why LucasArts may have closed, Gearbox's Borderlands 2, and a little bit of Luigi's Mansion 2. Hey everyone, just wanted to share the new shift codes good for 5 golden keys. They are supposed to be good for a few days, they didn't give a expiration. Enjoy! Laters.
When I posted on this topic the other day I was wary of posting anything that might be rumors and such. So I stuck with the few tidbits on Gearboxs' official facebook page.
Even before the Aliens Colonial Marines debacle, Gearbox has had Borderlands fans a bit annoyed with miss-information about the eventual level cap raise. Well it is official on April 1st a dlc pack that raises the lv cap to 61 and adds a third play through option will be available. No details yet on the specifics of this third play through. Also many fans are concerned about how this will effect all the lv 50 Legendary gear the have aquired. I personally am annoyed that this went from being part of the final installment of the season pass and is now another dlc to purchase.
**If you haven't seen "Aliens" (1986) and don't want me to ruin the ending for you- don't read this!** x)

Unlike most reviewers, I feel like I had a unique perspective going into Gearbox’s Aliens: Colonial Marines. My fandom of the series only reaches back a few months, when friends recommended that I check out Alien and Aliens. While both movies were great, I didn’t really have the grasp on the series like most that grew up with the franchise. Also unlike most that went into this game, I didn’t have the chance to play it until after the backlash. Reports of the game being horrendous can be found everywhere, and while I agree to an extent, I feel that the majority of this game’s lackluster reception is due to the lofty expectations of diehard Aliens fans. However, nothing can stop Alien’s Colonial Marines from being a generic shooting experience that fell way below the standards of a great game.

Welcome to another edition of Nerds Without Pants! No, this show isn't about an epic wrestling match between Antonio Inoki and Great Baba. This time, we revisit a topic that we talked about when we were still the Tri-Force crew on PixlTalk: Japanese games. Instead of rehashing material we take advantage of the fact that we’re nearing the end of the console cycle and grade major Japanese developers on their performance. Before that, we talk about what games we’ve been playing.

It was sure tough to follow the fantastic year of gaming we had in 2011, but 2012 did a bang up job of holding its own with plenty of amazing releases and some big industry changes to boot. As the current console generation appears to finally be wrapping up, we welcomed the Wii U on the scene as well as Sony’s newest flashy handheld. Game makers continued to stretch what’s possible from the Xbox 360 and PS3 while the PC seems to be roaring back into prominence thanks to Steam and other download services. Yet, despite some developers’ mastery of the current hardware, not every game released was worth spending your money or time on. The fact that there are plenty of sloppy and poorly made games being pumped out makes the ones that really wow us that much more noteworthy. And there were definitely tons of games to get excited about!
So I have returned from the dungeon to report on Borderlands 2 (BL2)

Gearbox software sure knows how to do a special edition. Coming off the announcement of the multiple and expansive editions of Borderlands 2, Sega has announced that the developer’s other big title, Aliens: Colonial Marines, will also be getting an equally cool set.

Skeptics have been dismissing the Wii U since its reveal, claiming that the new console still will fail to hold a candle to the current generation consoles. Some developers have been going out of their way to dispute these claims, such as Vigil, the company behind Darksiders 2, claiming that the console will have a version of the game that is “at least as good as” the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. Gearbox however, goes even further to say flat out that The Wii U version of their upcoming title, Aliens: Colonial Marines, will indeed look better than the rest.
