Started PS3 gaming this week. Booting up worked fine, faster than even X360. Got youtube running on it too, also with less issues than 360. The PSN store lost its search option but you can still buy things if you add funds to your account from another device (I'm using the phone app). Also Device Sign In just popped up yesterday and had me apply another password to my account. I guess it's Sony's way of forcing two factor identification and to ensure a robust password. Kind of annoying but I got it to work. There's some good stuff in the store I want, so I'll be testing digital downloads soon. Anyway, here's what I played this week:
This is the blog from last week I couldn't get posted until now. I was snowed in on that Sunday the 31st [edit: 25th], but I made it to MK's place Mon-Thurs to play a ton of stuff as work was cancelled those days. Here's the lot.
Also played some Game Boy and a whole lot of Switch games.
I'm definitely feeling a farming frenzy coming on: glued to the screen, not moving for hours, barely aware of my surroundings, forgetting to eat. It's on the verge of unhealthy obsession, but I just laugh about it and pull myself away at the end of every "weekend" and get back to work.
Lots of stuff this week, but it all comes down to Farm Together 2, which will be my friend and mine's obsession for the coming weeks.
The dreaded stealth gameplay got to me again in several new games I tried out this week. But I finished Doom Dark Ages, discovered some new Atari games, and got sucked into an old classic again.
So, that Acer Aspire laptop I blogged about last time? Screen doesn't come on. I've got to get this repaired (and hope that it doesn't cost too much) so until then, I'm using my trusty, won't-die Samsung Chromebook that I got back in 2017.
I found a few more NES era games in the hack 'n' slash genre and I'll retell what I've played so far in the Genesis/SNES era.

Princess Peach Showtime is out and in the game, Peach gets a starring role as she dons new outfits in stage plays. So I thought it might be neat to go through all the outfits she has and what they are like. But keep in mind there may be some spoilers here and there, so watch out for that. Princess Peach is one of the most popular Mario characters and she’s recently getting her own game on the Switch called Princess Peach Showtime! And that’s not even the first time she’s gotten her own game either! And even though she spends much of her time as a damsel in distress waiting for Mario to save her, there are plenty of other times when Nintendo lets her shine and be a hero. So in honor of her new game, I thought I’d go back and look at Princess Peach’s best moments.

Quite by accident I started playing this for a Game Pass rewards quest. I'd played it before for the same reason but didn't stick with it. I wondered what I was thinking because I'm really liking it now. It's currently my goto daily achievement game for Game Pass rewards. I play until an achievement pops and then move on to other games. I'm not using a guide or looking at the achievement list either. I'm just playing for story and adventure.
Most of my gaming's been done this week. I write this waiting for an oil change before continuing one more day. With time to kill, I thought I'd write down what I've played so far.

I didn't own this back in 1980 when it came to the U.S., but my next door neighbor had one. I spent a lot of time over there playing with him and all the other 13 year old kids that came over.
2022 was...better? Maybe? We got some great games anyway, and the backlog ever giveth, of course. First we'll take a look at the games I beat and bought and then we'll move onto the Golden Hippo Awards!

I broke 200k in achievements on Xbox the other day. The top scorers worldwide are over 3 million. The top gamer on my friend's list has around 400k. My score reflects 15 years of playing on Xboxes. But enough of that, on with what I played this week so far.
