WORST.  YEAR.   EVER.  I think we can all agree that 2020 has been one of the worst years in our lifetime, what with the Coronavirus, quarantines, riots and looting, politics, and much more.  And it doesn’t seem to be getting any better, as I just found out my mom has breast cancer (keep us in your prayers).  Some days I wonder if we’ll EVER get through this.  2020 can just suck it!  But at least we’ve had some good video games come out to help keep our minds off of this dumpster fire of a year.  So here’s my Best Games of 2020 Awards Show! But keep in mind that this is my list and my picks only, no outside opinions and whatnot.  And if a game isn’t on my list, it either just didn’t appeal to me or I haven’t played it yet.  Can’t play ‘em all, you know!  But with that out of the way, let’s take a look at my picks.

WORST.  YEAR.   EVER.  I think we can all agree that 2020 has been one of the worst years in our lifetime, what with the Coronavirus, quarantines, riots and looting, and much more.  Some days I wonder if we’ll EVER get through this.  But there is one good thing about this year so far.  We’ve had quite a lot of really good games come out the first half of this year!  Normally I like to write a blog this time of year with my favorite games of the year so far, because the holiday titles and E3 announcements usually take precedence by the end of the year.  Of course, because of the Coronavirus there was no E3 this year, and as of this writing we still don’t know what big games will be out for Christmas.  Just another reason why this year sucks.  So I don’t know how much different my list will be by the end of the year.  But keep in mind that this is my list and my picks only, no outside opinions and whatnot.  And if a game isn’t on my list, it either just didn’t appeal to me or I haven’t played it yet.  Can’t play ‘em all, you know!  But with that out of the way, let’s take a look at my picks.

I hate to admit it, but I’ve had a hard time dealing with all this Coronavirus stuff.  Well, I guess it hasn’t been TOO bad, but bad enough that I’m a bit disappointed with myself for not dealing with it better.  But I’m still really scared and anxious about all of it.  I have to say that I’m super happy that Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out when it did.  Couldn’t have come out at a better time.  It gave me a sense of normalcy and saneness during all of this.  I’m also glad that I’m still able to review games for that same sense of normalcy.  Speaking of which, here are more games I’ve reviewed lately over at GamerDad.com.  Please click on the links and read as many as you can, and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two.  I’d really appreciate it!

Hey guys, so I'm finally, mostly, back in commission. I definitely got the flu and it's been super horrible. Just went to the doc this morning because I definitely have a follow-on sinus infection that's resulted in the most brutal of headaches that won't subside. Truthfully, it's been hard to do anything feeling this shitty, but I did manage to sneak a few games in during the moments where I felt ok enough. Just going to go through them all below with my thoughts:

is more important than how much content exists in a game. Period. 

More Forza Horizon today. I played a lot of multiplayer for achievements. I got in on a group to play the Playground mode which is three gameplay styles (Infection, Cat and Mouse and King). Infection has one car be infected and the rest run from it until everyone is infected. The one who lasts longest wins. Cat and Mouse is a race where there's two teams, cat and mouse, and the cats try and stop the mouse team from finishing the race (only a mouse can win the race). King is like the inverse of Infected. One is labeled King and the rest have to steal his kingship by hitting him. The one who remains king longest wins.

It has been a very long time since my last blog. The beginning of the year was a bit rough for me up through May I had constant sinus infections/colds/allergies it was a mess. I finally opted to get sinus surgery and I am able to breathe SO much better than before and when I am congested my face does not hurt as horribly as it did before. I am still not 100% recovered but at least 50%. I should be fully recovered by mid to end of July. At least I am able to breathe normally and sleep now.

December has been a very busy month for me not only with the holidays but actually trying to keep a set streaming schedule (which has been hard with having a sinus infection for a few weeks and feeling extremely crummy along with living with a busy family that is very go-go-go). Thankfully I went to the doctor this past Monday and finally got meds. I am feeling so much better my ears and head don't hurt anymore!. 

While I definitely see  the PC Master Race peoples' point, I have to say it feels damn good to have a console again. Especially one that gives me free indie and sometimes newer retail games every month. I mean I pay $50 a year for those "free games," but considering how much I've gotten out of them, I'd say that's a steal considering new games are $60. 

 Two blogs in the same day? I know. I'm like an attention cannon, seeking to explode all over the faces of women and children. That... may need rewording at some point, but fuck it. Some things have happened and I need to talk about them!

Have you guys seen the PSN sales this week. I really wish I had some money for a couple of Vita game.

She's at the vet right now and we're waiting to hear when its a bladder infection or cancer. If it's the latter I probably won't be blogging today. Fingers crossed.

So capcom has created this lil site that if you join you help spread the virus and fill the map of Raccoon City, those who do it get extra content in the new remake for the first game. I figured Id share about it because its just something silly/fun to do and hell who knows what the content might be.

The more I look up about cat breeds, the more interested I am in what I think was the breed of my former cat, Clinger: Bombay. I always swore up and down he acted more like a puppy than a cat, throughout his life. He was always cuddly and playful and surprisingly athletic, willing to jump great heights for tennis balls. I was sad we had to have him declawed due to his penchant for climbing very high walls, including the very jagged stones of our fireplace that could have really hurt him had he fallen down the wrong way. Plus, he was an affectionate attention-seeker, much like people think of dogs. He was named Clinger for the way he'd cling on my shirt as a kitten when we got him from the shelter. And he really was damn clingy. In a good way. Everything about him matches the description these experts give of Bombays, who basically describe the breed as cat-dogs:

Been a while... I haven't been gaming much lately. Between catching up on work, sleep, and dealing with a mystery illness (possibly the start of an ear infection) that was causing balance and vertigo issues, I just haven't been terribly motivated to either game or blog. Anyhoo, here's what I've been up to:

 South Park: Stick of Truth has been heavily butchered from the inside out like the hooker from Se7en because it was censored in Australia. It also doesn't come out for like 3 more days here. So, naturally, I pre-ordered the game on Xbox 360 (both of my brothers are huge south park fans, so I want them to be able to play it) and pirated the PC version so I could play the game uncensored and unraped by sexually repressed religious nazis..

Today was not great for me, either. I fell asleep early in the morning again, after watching last year's Rush at midnight, getting done at 2:30am or so, and finding out there was a long-as-hell line at the Whataburger when I tried getting those 76 more grams of protein I needed via a Chop House Cheddar Burger and two large fries with spicy ketchup. 

 God Fucking Dammit, I missed a day. To make up for it, here are four entries instead of the usual two.

Misogyny. It’s a word that’s been thrown around in tandem with Killer is Dead since the fated Gigolo Mode was first revealed. However, creator Grasshopper Manufacture has gotten a raw deal. This tongue-in-cheek mode (that only features two unique encounters) has thrown the stars completely out of alignment for the studio and the game at large. The fact of the matter is, Killer is Dead is quite similar to Suda51’s past works. Combining the frantic action of No More Heroes with the third person shooting from Shadows of the Damned and the darker atmosphere offered by Killer7, Killer is Dead is a fantastic fusion of some of Suda51’s oeuvre. The cryptic narrative that undercuts the experience further accentuates the charm of this excellent action game.

Moving to a nicer and bigger apartment sure is awesome - I actually have room for a couch! Waiting over two weeks for your internet to be set up? Not so much. I enjoy checking my news sites, email, and RSS feeds daily but for a while there I felt like a cocaine addict abruptly thrown into rehab! Even though I have a stack of unfinished games, unread books, and shrink-wrapped movies, it’s not easy adjusting to a network-less world.

 Whoever invented Google+ should be set on fire, have their eyelids stapled together and then have random parts of his body run over by a tank. Whoever decided to link it with youtube deserves to be drowned in the urine of someone with urinary infection.
