Mario Kart World was recently released as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title. I was lucky enough to get a Switch 2, thanks to help from my family. So let’s take a road trip tour at all the tracks you can race on in the game. So grab your road trip snacks and let’s roll!

Back during the PSOne days, Square released a mascot kart racing game featuring cute versions of their Final Fantasy staple characters. You know, chocobo, moogle, white and black mages, etc. It was called Chocobo Racing. I wanted to get this game when it came out, but I was poor college student at the time and couldn’t afford to get it at full price. Plus I heard it was getting a lot of bad reviews, so I decided to wait for a while. Shortly after I graduated college, I found a new copy of Chocobo Racing at a flea market and it was only 20 bucks. And since I had a bit more disposable income by then, I decided to get it. And you know what? Despite it having such bad reviews, I really liked it! Sure it was no where near as good as Mario Kart or other mascot racers at the time such as Diddy Kong Racing and Crash Team Racing. But I really liked how they implemented Final Fantasy themes and tropes into the gameplay and presentation. So when Square-Enix showed a sequel of sorts last year coming to the Switch called Chocobo GP, I was really excited and wanted to get it. So now I finally have it and I wanted to talk about it and all the characters and tracks found therein. So let’s get started!

I'm something of an anomaly when it comes to fighting games. Okay, I'm something of an anomaly when it comes to a lot of games. Anyway, a new version of my favorite fighting game of all time was released last week. I speak, of course, of Sega's Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, which came out on PS4 and is currently free to PS+ subscribers.

As of January 1, 2020, we're entering a new decade in gaming (let's not go into pedantic debates about the.year zero here). It's hard to believe, it just seems like 2010, a time of Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, and Kinect, was just yesterday, and the world of the 2000s was still fresh in my mind.
In the first part of my 3DS tribute blog, we looked at my favorite downloadable games. Now we’re going to look at my favorite physical cartridge games. Now of course, you could download many of these games, too, but I had them in cartridge form so they’re going here. There’s a lot to cover so let’s get started!
I’ve noticed that many of my most recent reviews lately at GamerDad.com have been games for little kids. And I’m OK with that! Kids deserve good games, too, and it’s great when companies make games just for them. And I love reviewing them, too, for some reason. Five minutes with Nickelodeon Kart Racers and it’s very clear that Mario Kart 8 acted as not only an inspiration to the game, but in many cases as a blueprint for its design. As it turns out, that’s not a bad thing at all and helps make this a very competent racing game with some nice features and even a few things that help set it apart. But like any facsimile, it’s not nearly as crisp, pristine, or flawless as the original.
It's pretty great! So far the games I have for it are Zelda Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8, Mario Odyssey, Stardew Valley, and Hollow Knight. Hollow Knight is like the new Dark Souls for me, I.e. I'll probably buy it on any system in becomes available in, because it's that fucking good. Also, portable is the perfect way to play it!
MY HYPE FOR E3 IS OVER 9000!!!
Yeah, apparently that was in February of 2015. I for some reason had it in my mind I bought my PS4 in 2014, which would have been cool matching those 4s up, but oh well.
Dissidia Final Fantasy was one of my favorite games on the PSP. It was a fighting game featuring characters from the popular RPG series, and there were two of them on Sony’s first handheld. I always thought it would be neat if there was a version of Dissidia on one of the big consoles, so I was excited when Square-Enix announced Dissidia Final Fantasy NT for the PS4. I’ve been playing it recently, so here’s a blog about the characters and stages you can find in it, as well as some brief impressions of the game as a whole.
