Well, I finished Gears of War 3 and played several others partially. I'm happy with my new plan which seems to push me to finish some games. I managed to finish the Mass Effect Trilogy finally.
My picks from the second page of 25 games on Metacritic's Best of All Time for the years 2010-2012 sorted by score and then by system.
August begins my next set of three retro years, 2010-2012. Here are my picks from page one from Metacritic's best-of-all-time games for those years. I organized them in order of score but now also by system because I've found I don't like switching systems too frequently.
Ran the retro gauntlet again for console Gen 3 and started a new attack plan on modern gaming.
I'll be a little more active and at least comment some of y'all's latest blogs soon but for some strange reason I just feel grateful to Scott Stapp all of a sudden.
Welcome to a victorious edition of Nerds Without Pants! JD returns after many, MANY years away to hit the streets for the launch of Street Fighter 6. But before that we brainstorm some video game sequels and spinoffs. Enjoy!
Good morning Pixlpeeps and it is a warm sunny morning here in Hawaii. Ok so I kinda mentioned in previous blogs that there has been a lot going on and this is the reason why: I moved. I officially left California on Monday, and I am spending a couple of months in Hawaii until the house is built in….Nevada! Las Vegas to be exact. It has been a wild 6 months and there is another 5 months until the house is built. Until then I’ll be splitting time between Hawaii and then Nevada. It’s exciting, and stressful but I’m at the point where I don’t have to do anything but just relax and enjoy the ride.
Over the years, there have been many different types of cartridge software released. Where music and video media (eventually) became standardized, each game system had its own form of storage media. In addition to carrying interchangeable game software, companies tended to make the design and appearance of the cartridges themselves distinctive as a marketing gimmick. Most of us have memories of having game cartridges in boxes, not to mention blowing on the edge connectors when our games glitched out. So here's a brief overview of various game cartridges throughout history. This is not an exhaustive list.
Games for sure but I also participated in Record Store Day and went to a PA Dutch Smorgasborg. There was a harvest of peas too and texting with a friend I haven't seen for a few years. What else? Think that's it. Here are details on gaming.
Basically, it's Darkest Dungeon on PS4 and Torchlight III on Xbox One, but I also played a single 9 inning game of MLB The Show 21 and got my Farm Together lands down to 14. I also downloaded Path of Exile, a free-to-play action RPG to play sometime in the future. You can stop here or read on. You choose your own reading adventure.
I didn't notice any new releases all that interesting to me in Jan, Feb, and March this year but I saw several for April. So I thought I'd share them here.
With the year 2020 and the MLB World Series well underway, there’s no better time than now to talk about Super Baseball 2020. In 1991, SNK- the famed developer of such blockbusters as Metal Slug and Aero Fighters- released their spin on America’s favorite pastime in the arcades. Two years later, it was ported to the Sega Genesis with NuFX and Electronic Arts handling the programming and publishing. With its futuristic setting and easy controls, the game offered a level of enjoyment missing from baseball’s more realistic interpretations on the home console platform.
What games just lift your spirits when you're in a bad mood?
Good morning Pixlpeeps! It is Friday (right?) and I am typing this up before I start my day with some leftovers for breakfast. Breakfast of Champions! I think I will continue with my rambling style from Monday to today’s Quick Hits, but I’ll keep the ramblings somewhat organized:
It’s been years since I’ve eaten cereal and I decided to start yesterday. I mean why not, mix it up a little, and not go full homemade waffles (out of the Eggo box). A couple of things: 1. the milk first folks are weird, 2. why isn’t there a toy in the box? I have four boxes of cereal and zero toys. Good morning Pixlpeeps! I’m here, you’re there, we have some time let’s just ramble on about anything and everything. You read, I write and we’ll all have a good time

Good morning Pixlpeeps! So I was at the local Treasure Hunt yesterday and I found a bunch of cool stuff, that surprise involves gaming so I’m gonna share that with you. Spoiler this is going to be just a pickup blog and if you want to know what I watched (Mandalorian = very good, Jack Ryan S1 = excellent, MTV’s The Challenge = very good, all sorts of rastlin’ = hit and miss) or what I listened to (tons of podcasts), or what I read (zip, zilch, nada) that can probably be found in next week’s blog. Today it’s all about my finds because I want to hit the bank, grab some breakfast, and maybe check out a thrift or two today. Let’s get started.
Last we knew Vesper27 was writing on this very site.
