I've been going through my games like they were parts of a mini-game collection like NES Remix. I play to determine if I'm going to keep them or not. Or, I set some high bar of difficulty that gets me killed fairly quickly. It's also a test to see if I get sucked into a game for longer. Here's half of the stuff I sampled (I'll write up the rest tomorrow).
I really played through all the 90s games I had ready to go this week before wrapping it all up. Next month will be the 2000s starting with PS2 and GBA.
Mainly spent my time chasing down the weekly Game Pass rewards but tried some others as well.
Ramblings on a Monday morning:
A little backstory before I dive into today’s theme: a couple of weeks ago I was on hold with my insurance company. Usually I’m ok with this but I kept getting the run around, nobody knew what the hell was going on, and finally I talked to a nice lady who helped figure out what the solution to my issue was which opened another box of issues. Long story short, I’m no longer with them, and the proof I needed to help resolve some new issues was lost. After this annoying time (I went with a different insurance company while on hold with these people) I decided that I was going to finally get organized.
I met my baby nephew, Patrick, while visiting my brother and sister-in-law Sunday afternoon. Pat is adorable like you read about and I think he's in good hands. I wasn't there for long: maybe 90 minutes tops before they had to leave for family pictures. I'll see them again this coming Sunday when the baby shower drops. My brother and sis-in-law tried for adoption for 4 years and they lucked out with this little guy.
Good morning Pixlpeeps! I’m doing things a bit differently today, earlier I went and did my errands, grabbed some food, and now I am ready to write up today’s edition of Quick Hits. I did this because it is a 1000 degrees outside, and I want to hit the gym later on today when hopefully it will be not as busy as it usually it in the morning. I’m also hoping that since it is 1000 degrees outside most folks won’t venture outside. This entry is basically me breaking down what I am currently doing/need to start and if that isn’t interesting, it’s all good and I’ll see you on Monday. So the past couple of days have been a bit odd here in my little piece of Sunny Southern California. Friday it was 104, a little toasty but not too bad. Blog a day was kind of bust for me but to be truthful, I just got really lazy in the past week. Did my taxes, got a decent return back and I've been thinking about adding more RAM to my main desktop/gaming computer. Maybe I'll even take it a step further and upgrade my processor; this is most to due to the fact that the Witcher is going to need some faster than my i-5 3470 (3.2 GHz). Although it seems to be up to the task for the PC version of GTA V (I just want to replay it for the mods).
Today has been "Nicole does adult things" as in pay bills, renew my car registration and some food shopping. Next payday I have to pay off The Order, get my inspection done, and my phone bill. Any thing left goes to moving pretty much unless I finish Assassin's Apprentice and buy the 2nd novel. I did find the last Artemis Fowl novel, gonna want to read it till I finish my current book. I have had one good thing today
Seeing the Battlefield Hardline trailer left me with quite a few reactions. Having Payday turned into a PvP game rather than a Left 4 Dead clone sounds interesting, sure. But the level of destruction for that game is beyond excessive. It reminds me of the destruction in Man of Steel except the heroes are just stopping crooks, not saving the freaking world.
Big news, everyone! I just got a new job working for SEGA. I’m going to be one of the heads of creative development for a new studio they’re opening up called Flicky Tails Studio. I’ve got big plans to revive some of SEGA’s forgotten characters in great new games, so I’ll be really busy and you may not hear much from me here anymore. But before I go for good, I thought I’d give you guys a sneak peek of what I’ll be working on over the next couple of years.

Super Mario 64 was the first game to realize 3D gaming. This is important, since it beat out its closest rival by a few months. There had been attempts in the past by its arch nemesis, Sega, as well. Around that time, the whole landscape of gaming was changing. New people were starting to play games, and the next generation was about to take over.

I’ll openly admit that I’m not the best reviewer in the world; I’m far from it, actually. Hell, I don’t think I've had a writing class since Middle School; I just try to scrape by with my wits and endless assault of metaphorical quips. Regardless, that’s never once stopped me from attempting to write better than a toddler learning to pick his nose and scrawl in boogers. Also, in my world of candy-coated dreams is my love for heists. I’ve never tried a heist myself (unless you count the time I stole some Legos from my neighbor), but I love to read about successful heists and watch movies that feature incredible against-all-odds heists! So needless to say; when I was offered the opportunity to review Payday 2, I was able to combine my hopes and dreams of being a reviewer with my undying desire for some intricately planned heists into a singular experience of awesomeness!
