I set up my Disney Infinity on my Xbox 360, and  played some Immortals: Fenyx Rising and Pillars of the Earth. Pics first!

Last weekend I saw a poster for Guardians of the Galaxy 2; and then I saw a trailer before seening Dr. Strange. I was so excited, I put all my Guardians of the Galaxy Disney Infinity figures on my shelf. Then I realized I was missing two of them because I gave them to my friend Mark when we played Disney Infinity 2. Of course, I couldn't resist the buy-2-get-3-free sale at Gamestop and got some others. Here's a pic:

Started off with Metal Slug 2 on Monday. This one has an Egyptian theme. It's also about twice as long as the first one. It's full of fun stuff like getting turned into a mummy in the early stages. You fly a plane, drive a tank and the screens scroll up sometimes; lots of little improvements and the same great music and graphics. It also has the same great difficulty. This one has continues but they are not infinite. At some point you get a game over screen (I never counted the deaths), but the game does save your progress but only up to the beginning of the chapter you are on when you died. So if you have a tough time with the level end boss, you may find yourself repeating the whole level several times. This is what happened to me in chapter 5 (I think there's 8 chapters). I just wasn't up for any more today. I tried using the classic controller, it's suported, but I went back to the Wiimote for somet reason I forget why right now. My mind is completely blotted out with the next game I played all the rest of the day. 

More co-op in Disney Infinity 2.0 today. Mark and I played Survival mode on both Assault on Asgard and Escape from the Kyln power discs. Tower defence in Assault on Asgard can be a bit of a pain after a while so we went over to Escape from the Kyln and played its Diablo style gameplay through all the story missions (I used my Spider-Man figure for this), and then tried to tackle Exploration Survival Mode (I used my Green Goblin figure for this). This mode is 50 levels long, which takes a good long time, like several hours. Problem was, we kept getting disconnected somehow and had to start all over from the beginning. The first time we got to level 36 after an hour and twenty minutes (the mode has a timer). Then we got to level 46 after two hours and got disconnected again.There wasn't enough time to try a third time, so I checked out the Stitch and Brave power disc levels. 

Mark and I finally got to play some co-op in this game today using the Power Discs. We played through the rest of the tower defense style levels in the Assault on Asgard disc, and got through about half of the action rpg levels in Escape from the Kyln. We both tried to use the "event" power discs that give you an extra special attack, but the game doesn't let you use them in these story levels, just the survival mode that's on both discs. That's ok though because the survival mode is pretty cool on both discs. You play a large number of increasingly more difficult levels for each. We got to about wave 17 on the Assault on Asgard survival mode, and tomorrow, we'll tackle the 50 wave Escape from the Kyln survival mode. That one will likely take several hours to beat.

I found some used Disney Infinity Power Discs today at one of my retro stores. I bought the ones that give your characters abilities (they have the star at the bottom). There are also customization ones and toy ones. I like the abilites best. They are circular discs and go under your figure on the portal. Then I picked up 5 figures on the still running Gamestop sale: four Skylanders and a Baymax figure for my friend Mark. Here's the picture and further descriptions below: 

Today I found all the power discs I needed for achievements in Disney Infinity 2.0 in two 2-packs at GameStop and BestBuy. They are unique among the power discs because they have new levels on them.

Today I finished the Spider-Man playset in Disney Infinity 2.0. I enjoyed it a lot. It's mostly the same sort of stuff I did in the Avengers Play Set, but I don't mind because the combat system is pretty good.

Well Happy Friday Pixlbit Nation! The week has come to an end and I am ready to do nothing but…well actually I don’t know. I should go buy the last remaining Christmas gifts, and I missed the midweek Swapmeet because I got lazy, so I should go to the weekend Swapmeet. So what has been going on in your lives? Anything interesting? Currently it is a wet Friday here in normally Sunny Southern California. Yesterday was the start of this huge storm and which gave birth to what is easily my favorite hash tag #HellaStorm. Oh Nor Cal and your use of “Hella”. For those outside of California Northern Californians use the term “Hella” to add emphasis and replace the word very or really. Southern Californians get made fun of because we like adding the word “The” to the names of freeways. “Hey did you see The 405 is a parking lot today?” And that concludes the odd vocabulary of the different parts of California. Hello Pixlbit! It’s been an odd couple of days here in what is usually sunny Southern California. We had a crazy thunder storm, and the local news’ big story was that a tree was knocked over. This is more interesting than the last time when a guy drove his car through a flooded street, and was pissed at the city because his car was ruined (yeah that was news). Oh well after taking a break last week from blogging to enjoy the start of football I am back, and I’d like to share with you all the “What’s Going On With Chris” blog!
