Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've written anything for PixlBit and, honestly, life has just been a bit too crazy to focus on much. So instead of jumping back into the writing fray, I thought it'd be fun to start doing some Twitch streaming. I did a short stream a couple months ago showing off Quickie World, a kaizo SMW romhack (for those following me on Twitter, you've probably seen my growing obsession with Kaizo). Since that went pretty well, I thought it'd be fun to actually announce this one and try to get a bigger crowd involved. Part of the motivation is the release of a really awesome looking Banjo-Kazooie mod called Banjo-Kazooie: The Jiggies of Time. I'm really looking forward to playing it and showing it off to the community.

You might not remember this, but at one point in time* it was possible to play Wii and DS games online – you know, over the internet! Well, that’s all over now, but to send the online services off in style, we were able to gather a few members of the PixlBit family and have an intense session playing Mario Kart Wii. This helped remind us how much fun Mario Kart can be online, and how much of a hassle the Wii Friend Code system was. We were able to capture some footage of the races from Chris’s perspective and provide them to you as a video relic of our evening and proof that the Wii was once online capable.
Join Joaquim as he streams some games live!

The Monster Hunting may be done for now, but there is more opportunity in the near future. Expect more streaming tomorrow!

In the post-mordem of a really tough semester, I decided to play Journey and reflect on the past few months as well as talk about my thoughts on gaming this year...and of course my opinions on Journey. Hope you enjoy!

Join us in this PlayBit special as we show just how fun the demonic uprising can be. Get ready and grab some popcorn cause the action starts at 9 EST tonight!

Join Esteban, Angelo, Matt M., and Jason for a special Monday Night PlayBit. The four of us played a game we remember fondly from our collective childhoods, having grown up around ninjas, mutant turtles, arcades, and NESs. Our goal? Get as close to beating the XBLA version of the classic TMNT arcade game in one go with very limited lives. Spoiler Alert: On a trial run, the gang nearly made it to the end! We've all played this one (I hope). Super Mario Bros. 3. It's one of the top-selling games of all time, even before being rereleased. Mario first dons a power-up that lets him fly, there are colorful, challenging stages that are well designed, and there's even something of a fun and interesting narrative throughout the game. SMB 3 is a classic, and now I invite you to join me as I play through some of Super Mario Bros. 3.

Join Jason Ross as he plays through the latter half of Super Mario 64 to defeat Bowser tonight! Call-ins will be accepted to the PixlBit skype account, PixlSkype. Catch you tonight!

The Kirby's Return to Dream Land PlayBit is now over! In part one, join Jason as he plays as Bandanna Dee and Yellow Kirby to help Chris, the staff member controlling Kirby complete the first two worlds of Kirby's Return to Dream Land. But wait, there's more!

Why is this week's Monday Night PlayBit delayed? Because the game to be featured in the PlayBit is nowhere to be found! After a pretty complete search of area stores, Kirby's Return to Dreamland isn't in any of them. It seems despite the October 24th release date, the game will not be in stores until tomorrow. Given this, expect there to be a "PlayBit Tonight" on Wednesday, beginning at 7:30 PM instead. I hope to see you then!
So maybe I mislead people the other day, saying I'd play this game at 8:30. That's still going to happen, it's just going to happen sooner. What is Dungeon Defenders? It's an Action RPG Tower Defense Hybrid game receiving high scores from various outlets. Here at PixlBit, we finally got our review code, so I'll be taking the game online for some live-streaming action before my review. Come and check it out! If you're good, I'll even let you skype in to commentate. Add PixlSkype to your Skype friends to do so!

Instead, a new PlayBit is scheduled to occur on Saturday Night! Live! Be here at 8:30 PM EDT on Saturday Night to catch some of Trendy Entertainment's new game, the long-awaited Dungeon Defenders. See? I wouldn't just cancel one PlayBit on you all without rescheduling something (hopefully) better. After that comes another PlayBit, back on the regular schedule, Monday night! What game will be played then? Why, Kirby's Return to Dreamland! Tune in for these PlayBits, I hope to see you there!

Want to see the newest Ratchet & Clank title? Tune in tonight to catch Jason and Chris playing through a portion of it. It's their first Ratchet & Clank title, so things might start slow. Just don't be surprised when they get the hang of things and Chris tries to murder Jason dozens and dozens of time, in the event that's possible. Click through for a replay of the first part!

You think you've seen Super Mario 64 before, but have you seen Jason play Super Mario 64? No? Good. Because that's what will be played tonight, for this week's Monday Night PlayBit. Expect an two and a half hours of Super Mario 64, for some classic 3D platformer fun. Please note that it is unlikely Mario will ever attain 100 coins in a stage in this MNP, so a lot of the boring parts won't occur. Hooray! Click through for the replay! Also note next week, there will not be a Monday Night PlayBit. Sorry for the inconvenience. To make up for it, there will be a Tuesday Night PlayBit, which will occur on Tuesday night, believe it or not, and will feature Jason and Chris (and maybe Bradley) playing through a portion of Ratchet & Clank: All4One to kick off the busy holiday game season.
At the time of this post, Metroid: Other M is the leading candidate for this week's Monday Night PlayBit. However, there are several other options. A Boy and His Blob, WarioLand: Shake It!, and Xenoblade Chronicles number among them. Shadow Complex is another possibility on a different console, as is Mega Man X 2. One thing is certain: This week's PlayBit will begin at 8 PM EDT and end at 9 PM EDT. It's another "short" PlayBit, so join us for an hour-long glimpse at one of these games... Better yet, let me know which one you'd like to see me play! Edit: A surprise, last-minute vote chose a different game. Guess which one?! Starting very soon!

Why would I play Metroid: Other M as this week's Monday Night PlayBit? It's simple: I never took the time to get through the game before. More than that, from what I saw, I really felt like the game got shafted upon release. See, Other M took Samus's stoic, unfeeling, powerful character and made her into a more realistic person. People were used to Samus being about the Power Suit, but most neglected deep thoughts about what was underneath. Am I just trying to look sophisticated, or is there something meaningful behind what I'm saying...? Click through to watch the replay!

See this week's MNPB again, for the first time. It's A Boy and His Blob, the game about a boy and a blob from outer space! Also, there are jelly beans. Next Monday night? Metroid: Other M.

Tonight's Monday Night PlayBit is beginning a little bit later than MNPBs usually do: 9:00 PM ET. Why? The PlayBit will last two hours, and then we'll be covering Nintendo's 3DS event as it happens at approximately 11:00 PM ET! Tune in for everything tonight!

Jason's played nearly three hours of XenoBlade Chronicles. Check out the replays below!
