Welcome to the last Nerds Without Pants of the year! Hopefully you are getting to listen to this on your way to some holiday destination, or as you set up your shiny new PS4, Xbox One, or Wii U. Enjoy as the Pantsless Ones talk candidly about their feelings on the current generation of consoles. Now that the crew has access to all three machines we can finally evaluate the generation as a whole. While Patrick is still super stoked about his PS4 the bloom has started to come off of the rose a bit for Julian and Angelo.

Not two weeks ago, Nintendo announced a new 3DS cleverly called the New 3DS. It has several extra features, including Micro SD card support and a faster CPU, which means its games won't be compatible with previous 3DS versions. Here's what we think of it:

Hey! Listen! We have a big show for you this week, and we kick things off by talking about how awesome Felicia Day is before Patrick gives us the lowdown on the c2e2 convention. Is that Jeff Green guesting on our show? Not quite, but Angelo sounds a little bit like him, and he drops by to talk about Nintendo and other fun things!

Nintendo has announced that they will be showing a 3DS focused edition of Nintendo Direct tomorrow morning at 10am EST (7am PST). 

Nintendo fans are no strangers to having localized versions of enticing Japanese fare dangled in front of them, with no real word of when, or even if the title will make its way over seas. The now infamous “Operation Rainfall” trio took quite some time and a heavy fan based push before even an announcement of localization was made - never mind an actual release date.

Nintendo made many an inner child quite happy this morning by announcing that the main series’ first official foray into 3D will arrive this October in the form of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.

Up until yesterday, Nintendo and Amazon were in an unspoken and unannounced feud. For months, the online superstore has not stocked or sold Nintendo hardware directly, but today the cold war appears to have ended. Amazon is now offering the Nintendo 3DS XL, a previously unavailable item, directly from their warehouses.

The developer who designed the critically acclaimed Kid Icarus: Uprising has shut its doors recently. Unfortunately, the company has released a statement on their website noting that they closed on June 30, 2012. The company was spawned as a joint venture between Sakurai and Nintendo and funded almost entirely by the Big N.

When Nintendo announced their newer and bigger model of the 3DS, gamers immediately took notice that the system lacked a second circle pad, which was added to the current model via the Circle Pad Pro attachment. Despite the XL lacking a built in second Circle Pad, Nintendo hasn't abandoned support of dual analog control.

Epic Mickey was released in 2010 to extremely polarizing reviews. Junction Point aims to address the criticisms of the game in hopes of reaching a larger audience with Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. In addition to the console sequel a portable game for the 3DS from developer Dreamrift was revealed at E3, and while it shares the same concept as Epic Mickey, this title is mostly inspired by the Sega Genesis classic Castle of Illusion.

After last night's 3DS presentation, Fire Emblem: Awakening was accidentally confirmed by Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime. While there's been no confirmation that it happened in this manner, the rumor states that during a conversation with Kotaku's Stephen Totilo, Reggie mistakenly confirmed the game for America not realizing it hadn't appeared in the E3 press kit. Regardless of how the news came to fruition, Nintendo of America officially confirmed the title via Twitter shortly thereafter.

At this point, we've nearly reached the end of our E3 journey. Without being on the show floor to get our hands on the games, we've all just been spectating and deriving as much information as we can from those who are experiencing the show first hand. With another disappointing showing from Nintendo and a general lack of new items at the show, the conference is wearing on this crew's optimism.

Nintendo revealed some of their Wii U plans and gave us an idea of where they're looking to take their business in the coming months, but they were seemingly holding back. The 3DS brawler Code of Princess is confirmed for release on the 3DS this fall, and in true Atlus fashion, those who pre-order will get something a little extra in the box. In this case, players can look forward to a special art book featuring the designs and work of Nishimura, as well as a soundtrack.

Nikkei is reporting that Nintendo may be ready to unveil its first 3DS redesign tomorrow.  According to the rumor, the new version of the 3DS will have a 4.3 inch screen compared to the current version’s 3.5 inch screen.  That larger dimension will put the revision on the same scale as the DSi XL from Nintendo’s last generation of handhelds. 

Rayman may have recaptured a bit of the limelight on his own with the critically acclaimed Rayman Origins but Ubisoft hasn't forgotten about those rambunctious Rabbids. The publisher announced today Rabbids Rumble, a title coming exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS this November.

Way back at E3 2010, Atlus announced that the popular Shin Megami Tensei series would eventually make an appearance on the Nintendo 3DS. Since that time, no details have been revealed about the title - until now that is.

With a fantastic 3DS entry now under his belt, the star of Kid Icarus, Pit, is now back in the limelight after many years of being stuck in limbo following a 1991 Game Boy game. As a celebration of Pit’s return, Nintendo saw fit to release a 3D Classics revision of Pit’s first adventure on the 3DS eShop. Out of all the 3D Classics it contains the most changes, and makes a frustrating platformer more accessible to new players.

If you’ve been struggling to keep up with the outpouring of Pokémon spin-offs, supplements, and apocryphal adventures, then get prepared to be completely overwhelmed.  The next mainline games being released (Pokémon White Version 2 and Pokémon Black Version 2) were announced in February and many were shocked that they were destined for the DS platform instead of the newer 3DS. We have now received word from Nintendo that 3DS owners will be able to augment their Pokémon Black/White Version 2 games with the eShop exclusive title: Pokémon Dream Radar.  Additionally, an exhaustive version of the free Pokédex 3D application will be available for purchase in the eShop – Pokédex 3D Pro – that will contain every Pokémon from the property’s enormous catalog.

D3Publisher officially announced today the development of a game based on the Cartoon Network show, Adventure Time. Titled Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd you steal our garbage?!, D3 plans to release both DS and 3DS versions of the game this fall.

It’s no secret that Nintendo didn’t have their best year financially speaking, but that doesn’t mean that the venerable gaming company is ready to go quietly into the night.  Speaking at their financial results meeting, Nintendo Global President Satoru Iwata shed some light on some key strategies concerning the Wii U.

An enhanced version of the Xbox Live Indie Game,  Aban Hawkins & the 1000 Spikes will be coming to the 3DS and Wii U, according to Tyrone Rodriguez of Nicalis. The upgraded port will be known as 1001 Spikes and currently the title has no set release date. The 3DS eShop version of the game will launch first, with the Wii U version to expectedly launch alongside the system.

Pushmo, the first 3DS digital download title from Intelligent Systems, could easily be mistaken for an Art Style game, which are found by the dozen on the Wii and DS shops. Like those games, it takes a simple premise (puzzle-platforming) and graphics and makes an extremely in-depth and meaty experience. The result is one of the best eShop titles available right now, deserving of a download from all 3DS owners.
