Well that month sure went fast! Between work and vacation, poof! Gone!
Holy crap! I can't believe it's been a whole month since I popped in here last! Actually, I can. I had to have Bandit put to sleep on August 7th. Poor old guy wasn't doing so good there towards the end - completely blind, losing control over his hind quarters, and then he started having trouble with the front legs, too. I miss him, the house is very quiet, and I miss not having him there to greet me whenever I came home. The cat misses him, too. She started sleeping on top of me and being extra clingy. And did I mention the house is too quiet? I don't miss him tripping over my controller cables, though.

I had this mostly written, got called away to do something and never got back to it. I'm too tired and lazy to incorporate it into a new blog, so enjoy it for what it is.
Good morning, Pixlbit Nation! How is everyone on this fine day? We're on day two of howling winds and cold temps, but I don't care. My great-nephew Gabriel was born this morning at 6:58, and I can't wait to meet the little guy! I'm hoping to make the trip down this weekend. There will be much spoiling of this child on my part, I have a feeling.
That Super Bowl is up there as one of the greatest games I've ever seen. I still think you should run it at the 1 yard line with Beast Mode (give the man some Skittles!), but well deserved win by the New England Patriots. And even after those great plays by former Footlocker employee Chris Matthews and that freak catch by Jermaine Kearse.
Instead of sitting here typing this, I should be looking for gainful employment for the winter, but I'm having a hard time getting going on that. The places I wouldn't mind working aren't hiring and the others all fall under the category of "I'd rather stab myself in the eye with a fork than work there". I'm going to have to suck it up here shortly, though. In the meantime, I'm doing yard work for my landlady. Not bringing in any money, but making her happy. And the yard looks nicer.
Been a while... I haven't been gaming much lately. Between catching up on work, sleep, and dealing with a mystery illness (possibly the start of an ear infection) that was causing balance and vertigo issues, I just haven't been terribly motivated to either game or blog. Well Happy Friday good people of the Pixlbit Community! The weekend begins in a couple of hours, and I know you folks are ready to enjoy the warm weather and maybe take in some video games. So for today’s Quick Hits blog I thought I’d go over some of the stuff I watched this past week, and my thoughts about them. Just a little warning that there will be spoilers so if you watch the same shows I do, and haven’t seen this week’s you might want to skip it. Because of this I decided to switch up the layout and have my pickups first, and then my stuff I watched at the end so it is easier for you good folks to skip it. Sound good? Well good, let’s get this started!
I hope most of my friends have recovered from St. PaDDy's Day. I myself stay in, I don't have a lot of desire to carouse with the plastic Paddy set. Anyway, here's what 'e been up to in the last week:
It's a little late but I felt like doing this anyway. I don't really have a numbered top 10 because I don't feel that strongly about the games that would be at the bottom of the list. I also don't have an order for most of these. I have a clear #1 and a top 5 but that's about it. I'm just going to jump right into my #1 game of 2013.
2013 was a great year for video games in my opinion. There was a pretty wide range of enjoyable titles throughout the year for all platforms, and it's been a joy trying to get my hands on them all. I'd rather not rank them, but rather recognize them for their qualities. Here's my list!
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I visited my family (about 30+ of us) in a Thanksgiving dinner. It was calm and I watched some football and took it easy. In the past, I have gone to Black Friday sales, not this year though. 100% of my Black Friday purchases were online, no fighting in stores for me. So picked up some great games:
Where I talk about just about everything under the sun except for gaming 
. I think it's the Puritan guilt complex - I should be looking for a job for the winter, so I feel guilty about gaming. I do many other things to procrastinate, so it really shouldn't matter. Anyway...
Even after playing, and enjoying games with heavy stealth influences like the Batman: Arkham series and The Last of Us, I wouldn’t say that I prefer stealth games. So, going into Splinter Cell: Blacklist, I was hesitant. My past experience with the series is terribly limited, having spent the most time with 2010’s Splinter Cell: Conviction. Though I initially worried that I wouldn’t find my footing, I quickly found that Blacklist had a lot to offer and by the time the credits rolled, I was more than happy to have experienced it.
The gaming season is about to heat up. It hasd been a pretty decent month for gaming. There wasn't much I am interested on the 360. I used to get all my third party titles on the 360 but I decided to change that since my PS3 is getting more attention by its many exclusive titles that are coming out over the last year.
