It’s time for my “Best Video Games of 2024 Awards Show!”  Keep in mind that this is my list only and no other outside opinions contributed.  And if a game isn’t on this list, it either just didn’t appeal to me as much or I haven’t had a chance to play it yet.  Ok with that out of the way, let’s begin!

With the Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door remake coming out on Switch this month, I thought it would be fun to go back and rate all the games in the Paper Mario series.  We’ll do this from worst to best, and only games in the Paper series are going to be on this list.  Well, with one exception.  OK, let’s begin!

But anyway, here’s what I know now, for the most part, so let’s take a look at what games I’m looking forward to in 2024!

Happy New Year!  Around this time of year, I like to make a list of games that are releasing in the coming year that I’m looking forward to.  Of course, this isn’t a full complete list, as there will assuredly be titles announced throughout the year that I may get as well. Heck, last year we didn’t know about Pac-Man World: Re-Pac until late summer, and that ended up being my Game of the Year in 2022!  But anyway, here’s what I know now, for the most part, so let’s take a look at what games I’m looking forward to in 2023!

My gaming dance card is filled up at least until next summer, when Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches.

Of all of Nintendo’s game series, the Paper Mario titles have probably had the most ups and downs.  On one hand, you have what many consider to be one of the best RPGs ever made!  And on the other end, you have what others, including myself, believe to be one of Nintendo’s worst games!  Ouch!  The newest game in the series, Paper Mario: The Origami King, came out earlier this year, so I thought it might be fun to rank them.

So it's been 90s week on my Switch this week. I got Turok a little over a week ago, and then I've also been playing a certain little known PS1 RPG that somehow just found its way onto a Nintendo console over 20 years later. And that got me thinking about the N64.

I'm going to make what will, again, probably be my only BaD contribution.

Hey everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying the last remains of Summer since I am already ready to jump right into the Autumn season and bundle up into sweaters and leggings along with some hot cider! 

Nintendo has made a lot of money off of the miniaturized editions of the NES and SNES. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, especially when the games are really good. A N64 Classic Edition is seen as the logical next step, although there are rumors that a Game Boy Classic Edition is in the works next. But to be honest, I'm not too enthused about a N64 Classic. I would personally much prefer a Gamecube Classic Edition myself.

I got a Nintendo Switch for Christmas, so here, I am going to give you some of my thoughts on it.

I guess this is a little late, seeing as how we are headed into February as of tomorrow, but here are my top games of 2017.

Well, it looks like Nerds Without Pants is reaching the end of Chrono Crossing. I didn't consistently participate in it, and I regret that. But I enjoyed talking about my favorite games of every year. Brought back a lot of memories.

It's the peultimate day of BaD so even though I may not have gotten to every game in my collection, It's been a blast showcasing and highlighting my stupid collection of crap. So here are today's games!

 Man, it's been a while since I've done a proper update blog. It's been even longer since I've written anything even approaching article quality. The last thing was maybe my Plus10damage Bloodborne review... at the beginning of 2015. Christ. Well, one of my new years resolution is to actually publish an article to the front page rather than finishing a first draft and then shelving them for no apparent reason.

I'm kind of happy I'm only working part time at the moment. Life is pretty busy right now. Beau takes up a lot of my time, but in a good way. He's still moving his crate all around the cottage while he's in it, so I've taken to calling him my mini seismic event. I make sure he gets at least one hour plus walk a day, but I think I may have to try for two. He has boundless energy. But he also likes to snuggle up on the couch and he lets me get plenty of gaming in, when I have time to game. Oh, and tonight at the market, I had a customer who was a dead ringer for Gordon Freeman. I wanted to ask him if he'd ever played Half-Life in the worst way.

I'm home sick today, not sure if it's round two of the vicious chest cold I had earlier or a brand new nasty virus. Either way, I'm so sick of hacking and sneezing. Anyway, Beau and I spent the morning watching The Dog Whisperer. Beau is so funny when there are dogs on TV - he cocks his head and tilts it from one side to the other, and then he gets up close to the TV screen and whines. I think he wants me to let the other dogs out of the box to play with him.

I finally figured out how to add the funds from my nintendo card to my 3DS. Felt kind of like an idiot when I realized how easy it was. Bought the Origin Island DLC for Fantasy Life, Luxor, and tried getting Super Mario Bros 3, but my battery was low and it wouldn't let me buy it. That's just stupid, by the way. I haven't been able to finish downloading anything other than the DLC for Fantasy Life because I haven't been anywhere with wi-fi since I bought the games.

Holy crap! I can't believe it's been a whole month since I popped in here last! Actually, I can. I had to have Bandit put to sleep on August 7th. Poor old guy wasn't doing so good there towards the end - completely blind, losing control over his hind quarters, and then he started having trouble with the front legs, too. I miss him, the house is very quiet, and I miss not having him there to greet me whenever I came home. The cat misses him, too. She started sleeping on top of me and being extra clingy. And did I mention the house is too quiet? I don't miss him tripping over my controller cables, though.

Rpg's are about as rare to find on the Nintendo Wii as horror titles. Sure there were a few such as Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World or even wiiware titles like Final Fantasy IV : The After Years, but for the most part they were more miss than hit. And when we did get a RPG it was more of a hybrid style. Super Paper Mario became more of a traditional 2D platformer, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time was a DS port. And that brings us to today's game. Today we have a mystery dungeon roguelike that came to the Wii. This week's wii review-Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon- A game I bought for $15.
