I definitely took my sweetass time (More on Why Later) getting around to grading some papers this weekend, which means students will get them back Wednesday. I had them marked up, but this was one where the grading will be a bit weird because there are things they should know by now, but also some stuff I haven't gone over I won't take off for. So that will be "fun." 

Played a bit of Lego Batman 3. Finished Europe in there level. Shrinky town.

I hesitate making this blog on this site because I know most of you are either console-only gamers or retro gamers, which I am also, but most of you probably won’t care about the little old ‘PC Show’ that aired between MS and Ubisoft conferences. Nick Dimola tweeted something about consoles being dead and I was like, why? You didn’t like the MS games? They looked pretty sweet, and I don’t even own an xbox. Then I watched the MS conference in full, and basically most every console exclusive is coming to Windows10, and there is cross-buy and cross-play in some cases which basically turns Xbox into more of a gaming service more than a console. So, most XBox games are coming to PC, most Indie games are already on PC or at least start off there. Japan is releasing more and more games on Steam, like Final Fantasy etc. Then there are games on PC that may or may not go to console. The PC is in a pretty advantageous position right now if you’re a gamer that wants to sample a bit of everything right now, and some would argue always has been, but I also love my console and portable games so it’s not true for me. I’m not a PCMaserRace snob at all, but as a gaming enthusiast, I want to play every type of games. I’ve even setup DosBox, if you don’t know what that is, don’t ask. It is severely nerdy to discuss and I feel shame admitting it.

I started a blog entry a couple of weeks ago and didn't get far, I copied it and I'll paste it in, just so I don't have to try to dredge up what was going on out of the cobwebbed recesses of my brain:

Movies. We've all got favorites. I have shelves full of favorites. And they're all over the place in terms of genre (no chick flicks, though). I was going to do a ten favorite list, but I couldn't decide what to kick out to pare it down to ten, so I said "what the heck" and made it 25. These are not ranked in any way, shape, or form.

Continuing with Dragon Magazine 81, Jan. 1984. In this month, you might have played Atari’s laserdisc arcade game Firefox, based on the Clint Eastwood movie. It probably got made because of the success of Dragon’s Lair the year before. I have a vague memory of seeing this game in an arcade, but I don’t think I ever played it.      Remember the movie The Seventh Seal where Max von Sydow plays chess with Death? Well, I played board games with The Old One today. Those who know what I'm talking about. . . know.

   Starting tomorrow is the Too Many Games Convention at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Phoenixville, PA, which is not in the city but in the suburbs. This convention is like practically in my back yard, and it's gotten bigger and bigger every year, but I haven't planned for it again, and so won't be going. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!! Let's look at what I'm going to be missing and then maybe I'll buy tickets for next year.

     I started the day by watching The Wind Rises in the theater. I knew I was going to cry like a baby all throughout and, sure enough, I did. There were several other people there, so I had to contain it to a certain extent.

Forza Motorsport 5 is probably one of the most beautiful games I’ve played to date. Honestly, it’s not uncommon for me to stop paying attention when I should be braking into a turn, simply because the beautifully crafted background grabbed my attention -- much like a gorgeous woman gracefully striding past me on the sidewalk. And, just like how I often walk face-first into a sign or lamp post while gawking at a stunning woman, my Forza 5 car often slams into a concrete barrier while cruising at 200 mph with my focus on the magnificent graphics as opposed to the course ahead.
