It’s time for my “Best Video Games of 2024 Awards Show!” Keep in mind that this is my list only and no other outside opinions contributed. And if a game isn’t on this list, it either just didn’t appeal to me as much or I haven’t had a chance to play it yet. Ok with that out of the way, let’s begin!
Around this time of year, I like to make a list of my best games SO FAR, because usually the AAA titles are released later in the year during the holiday season, and the titles that came out earlier tend to be forgotten. So here’s when those games get their due. Keep in mind that this is my list only and no other outside opinions contributed. And if a game isn’t on this list, it either just didn’t appeal to me as much or I haven’t had a chance to play it yet. Ok with that out of the way, let’s begin!
Happy New Year! Around this time of year, I like to make a list of games that are releasing in the coming year that I’m looking forward to. Of course, this isn’t a full complete list, as there will assuredly be titles announced throughout the year that I may get as well. But anyway, here’s what I know now, for the most part, so let’s take a look at what games I’m looking forward to in 2024!
Let’s end this year with one last look at reviews I’ve recently written over at GamerDad.com! As always, please click on the links and read as many reviews as you can, and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. Ok let’s begin!
It’s the end of the year so you know what that means? It’s time for my “Best Video Games of 2023 Awards Show!” Keep in mind that this is my list only and no other outside opinions contributed. I’ve cooked you all up a feast of game reviews I’ve recently written over at GamerDad.com! Please click on the links and read as many as you can, and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two while you’re there! I’d appreciate it. OK after this feast you all should have nice fat and full bellies! Bon appetit!

Welcome to the Pac-Man Museum+! My name is Cary, and I’ll be your tour guide today. Oh man, wouldn’t it be cool if there really was a Pac-Man Museum and I worked there? I’d be in heaven. Anyway, Pac-Man Museum+ is a collection of arcade and console games featuring Pac-Man. Kind of like the Namco Museums, just with Pac only. It’s available on most current consoles and PC, but I got the PS4 version because it was cheapest at 20 bucks. Plus it was a physical version, which I always like. Although I’m tempted to get it on Switch as well so I could have all those games portable. And I hear it’s also on Xbox Game Pass as of this writing, so if you have an Xbox One or X/S, check it out! All right, so come along with me on the tour of the 14 games on this collection!
But first, a video game print ad from a comic released just this month, Strange #3. It's really Doctor Strange #3 but now Clea is the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth, and she's not a doctor like Stephen. The ad is for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. You don't see vg print ads much these days.
Blog a Day #5
Boy this has been one roller coaster of a year, with lots of ups and downs. But it’s the end of the year so you know what that means? It’s time for my “Best Games of 2021 Awards Show!” Keep in mind that this is my list only and no other outside opinions contributed. And if a game isn’t on this list, it either just didn’t appeal to me as much or I haven’t had a chance to play it yet. Ok with that out of the way, let’s begin!
After I quickly bailed on a few games, I looked through the free-2-play games list in the Xbox store and found some fun ones that took up the rest of my game time on the weekend.
I’d like to say this year’s been better than the last, but it really hasn’t. Even though it’s improved, we’re still having to deal with a lot of COVID crap. And then we found out my mom had breast cancer late last year and we had to deal with the surgeries this year. Luckily she’s cancer free now, which is a miraculous and wonderful thing, and I thank God everyday for that. But man it sure was rough for a couple of months there. You have no idea. But anyway, around this time of year I like to make a list of my best games SO FAR, because usually the AAA titles are released later in the year during the holiday season, and the titles that came out earlier tend to be forgotten. Hey dudes! I’ve got some totally radical and gnarly game reviews I’ve written recently over at GamerDad.com. And a majority of them happen to have an 80’s theme! It would be righteous to the max if you could click on the links and read as many reviews as you can and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. Oh and for the record, I never talked like that as a kid in the 80’s I think the only people who did were on television.
Games of the Decade: Expansion Pass #8/Blog a Day #23

To not just post a blog but to finally join all the cool kids and acquire a Nintendo Switch Lite. That's right, the stimulus money finally arrived and I got lucky with this purchase. It wasn't even planned on. The original plan was to get a new Xbox One controller; I didn't even care about dropping $170 for an Elite controller. When the local Walmart had nothing in stock in regards to controllers, my eyes wandered to the Nintendo Switch cases. There was one box for a Coral skew/version/skin Lite and I made the choice right then and there. Who knows when an opportunity would come again.
What did Mark and I play today? Here's the skinny.
The good news is that I still have my job. The University of Arkansas is closing all its buildings starting Monday and only essential personnel are allowed on the properties (campus police, custodians and some exceptions I'm not thinking of). So I still have to show up five days a week, sanitizing the buildings. But I am getting paid. So, it can be worse.
Nintendo Switch Year 3
I forgot to mention the other day I also played some Forza Horizon 4. I found they added a few things and went about doing them.
Games of the Decade #30/Blog a Day #01
It’s that time of year again! It’s the Cary’s Best Games of 2019 Awards Show blog! Keep in mind that no outside opinions went into the making of this list. It’s just my own picks. And if a game is missing from my list, it either didn’t appeal to me as much, or I just simply haven’t played it yet. Can’t play all the games out there, you know!
In the first part of my 3DS tribute blog, we looked at my favorite downloadable games. Now we’re going to look at my favorite physical cartridge games. Now of course, you could download many of these games, too, but I had them in cartridge form so they’re going here. There’s a lot to cover so let’s get started!
I discovered what I did wrong in Wolfrenstein Younblood, but I had put the game away already. So I jumped into We Happy Few on Game Pass. Then I got annoyed and switched to Apex Legends but got kicked out for network problems. Finally i tried Battle Chasers: Nightwar and got hooked.
