An imagined library of games I would have from the best of the 2010s. In order of rank on the Metacritic list for those years.
I got through a lot of GBA/PS2 stuff this week and retro on Xbox Series S. I got some good purchases on sales this week too. Also progress through the Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue show, books and podcasts.
I downloaded every 2000s era game I owned digitally on Xbox and started going through them. I added a bunch to my wish list as well in case a sale comes up.
Got another batch of game reviews I’ve recently written over at GamerDad.com! Please click on the links and read as many as you can and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. OK let’s begin!
Yes, scouring through the store on Xbox (and other systems) has its rewards. I never know what stealth released title I'll come across. My eyes bugged wide when I saw the following collections.
Yo! Yo! Yo! I’ve got new game reviews I’ve recently written over at GamerDad.com! Please click on the links and read as many as you can, and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. OK let’s begin!
So I'm trying to stick to the years 1995 to 1999 as the core of Console Generation 5, but it is often that i get tired of the retro and just do a genre search for the latest RPGS and see what I can play for free or cheaply.
Hey everybody! I just got back from McDonald’s and I got everyone Happy Meals! Guess what the prize is inside? Game reviews I’ve recently written at GamerDad.com! Please click on the links and read as many as you can, and maybe even post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. OK let’s begin!
Seems like a lot of stuff I played this week but between retro games with low gameplay time and various rage-quits it's not as much time spent as it seems. Here's everything, 'cause I need to write.
Around this time, I like to make a list of games that are releasing in the coming year that I’m looking forward to. Of course, this isn’t a full complete list, as there will assuredly be titles announced throughout the year that I may get as well. But anyway, here’s what I know now, for the most part, so let’s take a look at what games I’m looking forward to in 2025!
Really, two weeks of stuff here. I swap out consoles like they were cakes on display at a cake shop except for the Xbox Series S, which is always hooked up.
I've come up with a 2025 plan for my gaming. The goal is to put the entire history of video games into 12 parts so I can travel in time over the course of the year (I do this for music and literature as well). Here's what I came up with.
Can't stop, won't stop. This is my playlist for upcoming November. Recipe: open Metacritic. Limit it to the years 2019-2021. Go from highest to lowest ranked, choosing games I want to play or replay.
Looking forward because there's only one week left to this month. I'm making a playlist from the years 2016-2018. I've already changed my plan for next year, but I'm sticking to this 2024 plan until the end. So three year's worth for October seen through the lens of Metacritic's highest ranked games. Here's my first playlist taken from all the games rated 90 or better. It's short.
My picks from the second page of 25 games on Metacritic's Best of All Time for the years 2010-2012 sorted by score and then by system.
I’ve grilled up a batch of game reviews I’ve recently written at GamerDad.com! As always, please click on the links and read as many as you can and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d really appreciate it. OK, let’s dig in!
August begins my next set of three retro years, 2010-2012. Here are my picks from page one from Metacritic's best-of-all-time games for those years. I organized them in order of score but now also by system because I've found I don't like switching systems too frequently.
It's hard to pull myself away from some of these games but that's my plan. Here's what I finalized my month with this week.
A list of games I'd like to revisit in order of Metacritic score for the years 2004-2006 with some notes.
Most of my gaming time has been Mad Krammer and I playing the Wizardry remake, but I squeezed in a retro game and the usual Game Pass Rewards game. I also traded some old games I don't like to Game Junkies and picked up some others. Game Junkies is becoming my regular Friday morning haunt of late.
I've picked up a few games this week. I'm at the end of Diablo IV. I've discovered a few new retro favorites. I've also done my usual casual plays for rewards points. Here it all 'tis.
In addition to Xbox stuff, I ran through a lot of 90s games to see what I wanted to use for trade bait, and what I wanted to keep. Here's what I have something to say about.
Much more than just Shmups this week but I played a lot of Shumps and finally had my fill of getting beaten down. I think I'll put the Shmups aside for the rest of the month. So I've also been exploring games of the late 80s both from hits lists and my own lists. I've got the Switch, Retron 3 and Xbox Series S all running and sourcing whatever I can find. So here goes.
I'm going to focus on the three titles that grabbed my attention, and most of my time, this week. Also a surprise new purchase at the end.
