The first thing that comes to mind is changing my Xbox gamertag. I got one in 2004 when Xbox Live Arcade dropped but a mini-game on an Official Xbox Magazine demo disc was giving me trouble in '07, and I thought a new gamertag would solve it. Well, it did solve it, but I lost touch with my old gamertag over time, and now it's probably been deactivated along with the few games I bought under it. It'll be 20 years on my current gamertag next year. It could've been 23 years if I'd stuck with my original one.
I got through the last of my PS2 games, or so I thought. Here's what I got to this week.
I'm going down the Metacritic list for PS2 and seeing what might be worth trying out. Journey along and see the sights.
Game maker Capcom is known for lots of things, like Mega Man, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, etc. But probably what they are known best for is their large roster of fighting games, such as Street Fighter. They did a collection of them a few years ago, plus one last year that had all their Marvel games on it. And now they’ve got another one with even more fighters! So let’s take a look at the games on this collection.
Earlier this year, Capcom released a collection of their Marvel licensed arcade games. It was pretty surprising that they did this, seeing how Marvel is owned by Disney now and all. But they made it happen! I got the physical release of this recently, so I thought I’d ‘take you for a ride’ and check out all the games on this collection.
What I played this week and the various stuff I picked up on the cheap from the soon to be closed Xbox 360 store, some from Game 'n' DVD Exchange and from a new store I discovered called Just Press Play in Lancaster Pa.
I can finally source Metacritic on a complete list of games across all systems. '95 seems to be the start of where they have enough reviews to use. I thought I'd post their list of top 14 games and then my current list of May retro plays picked for very different reasons. I do this just for fun and hopefully a little conversation.
According to wiki, the Genesis and Game Boy won the sales race for consoles and handhelds; Daytona USA and Mortal Kombat II were the winners in the arcades; and Donkey Kong Country for consoles. It's interesting, but what this blog is about is more self-centered. It's my wish list. So here 'tis:
At the end of August/beginning of September, I went to PAX West 2019 in Seattle. And I finished my articles last week so here are links to them in this blog. Please read them when you get a chance. In the second part of my look at the characters in Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, we’ll go over the fighters on the Capcom side. I’m way more into video games (obviously, since I review them) than I am comic books, so hopefully I’ll sound a bit more knowledgeable here. So let’s dive right in. Oh yeah, some slight Story Mode spoilers here and there may happen, so you’ve been warned.
ARMS is Nintendo’s newest fighting game on Switch. Originally I wasn’t going to get this game for a while, but I found a sale where it was ten dollars off. Doesn’t sound like much, but considering Nintendo’s first party games hardly ever go on sale, I decided to take the plunge. ARMS has a lot of interesting fighters, so I’ll do what I usually like to do with these kinds of games. Here’s a blog about each of the ARMS fighters! Nintendo has said that more will show up as DLC, so I also posted my own ideas for original fighters and existing characters, too!
July was a super slow month, not even warranting my usual recap breakdowns! For the first time in a several years, I did not finish any games over the course of the month 
I was busy! I also did not buy any games (that will certainly be changing in August), so I'd have almost nothing to recap if not for PS+. Even with that I only got four of the six games. Darkstalkers: Resurrection (PS3) is the most interesting of the bunch to me. There was also the Tell Tale Game of Thrones (PS4) game as well as a couple I'd never heard of, Element4l (Vita) and Don't Die, Mr. Robot! (PS4/Vita).
Project X-Zone 2 is a strategy RPG on the 3DS that stars popular video game characters from companies like SEGA, Bandai Namco, Capcom, and even Nintendo! Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve taken a look at the characters from each of the game companies in this title, and we’ll conclude this blog series by going over the characters on the Capcom side!
Vampire Savior, Darkstalkers 3, is slowly becoming one of my favorite fighting games. Having done a retrospective over the whole Darkstalkers series made me realize how amazing the series was especially with Vampire Savior. Of course, falling in love with Vampire Savior leads to the enviable problem everyone who loves the game and Darkstalkers series: the soul crushing longing for a fourth one. Today there are quite a few games that kind of come close to a Vampire 4: Skullgirls, Killer Instinct 2013, and even Street Fighter V. However, if you want a game that comes really close to a Vampire 4 that actually came out around Vampire Savior, your best bet is a little known gem known as Asura Buster.
Another year down! Which one was this? 2007? 12? Oh yeah, 2014. I still have a hard time believing it was 2014, let alone that it's over. But let's get on with this, shall we? First up are all the games I beat this year and then how many I bought or somehow acquired (don't worry, I don't list those specifically). Hey, everybody. I know I've been pretty much MIA except for the odd comment. November was a busy month and December is even crazier. I just finished a 60-hour week at work and have two more of those to look forward to. That's why we're nearly done with the first week of December and I'm just now posting the November recap.
