Earlier this year, the ESA announced they would be cancelling E3 yet again and they wouldn’t have it anymore. So I wanted to say my final goodbyes and reminisce on my favorite E3 memories here. The reasons why I didn’t do this earlier when they first announced it I was pretty busy at the time, and I figured I’d do it when E3 usually occurred around now.
WORST. YEAR. EVER. I think we can all agree that 2020 has been one of the worst years in our lifetime, what with the Coronavirus, quarantines, riots and looting, politics, and much more. And it doesn’t seem to be getting any better, as I just found out my mom has breast cancer (keep us in your prayers). Some days I wonder if we’ll EVER get through this. 2020 can just suck it! But at least we’ve had some good video games come out to help keep our minds off of this dumpster fire of a year. So here’s my Best Games of 2020 Awards Show! But keep in mind that this is my list and my picks only, no outside opinions and whatnot. And if a game isn’t on my list, it either just didn’t appeal to me or I haven’t played it yet. Can’t play ‘em all, you know! But with that out of the way, let’s take a look at my picks.

So I don’t know how much different my list will be by the end of the year. But keep in mind that this is my list and my picks only, no outside opinions and whatnot. Lately I’ve been watching a series on Netflix that I’ve really gotten into. It’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. And it’s REALLY GOOD! I’m a big Jim Henson fan and a lot of his works were a huge part of my childhood. TV shows such as Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and The Muppet Show, for instance. And movies like the original The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. Heck, the very first Muppet Movie was the first movie I remember seeing in a theater. The new Dark Crystal series feels like something I would’ve watched as a kid, and I don’t want to make too many assumptions, but I feel like Jim Henson would be happy with it. So I highly recommend you watch it if you have Netflix. It makes me really want to play the upcoming video game that I saw at PAX, even though I don’t like tactics strategy games. Can you guess my favorite character from the new series? I’ve given you a couple of easy clues, so you should be able to figure it out.
CES 2012 is now underway and Microsoft's CES press conference yielded some announcements. One of the biggest announcements was the release date for Kinect for Windows. Coming on February 1, 2012, 200 companies, including Toyota, Mattell and American Express, are already developing apps for the motion control peripheral.
Disney-Pixar today set a release date for Kinect Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure. The game will be available on March 20, 2012 and will retail for $50. The new title for the Xbox 360's Kinect add-on will feature characters from Pixar's animated films such as Ratatouille, Cars and Toy Story.
My philosophy in recommending a gift isn't to pick the biggest and best single player game out there. I want to help you make memories with your family, to shape new conversations with your friends. In short, I want to point out the games I think can bring people together. As such, many of the games I recommend will have multiplayer components. I also want to note that while all my suggestions seem to be major titles, I'm going to leave some of the biggest games off this list, since recommendations for them can be found easily enough elsewhere.

I was one of the very few people I know who did not grow up watching Sesame Street. As such, I never fully understood the dedication and nostalgia that people who did grow up watching it had for the not-for-profit, educational television show. Never fully understood, until having my own child, I should say. Although my son, Nicholas, is only ten months old, his smile widens and his eyes brighten every morning at 10AM when Sesame Street comes on the air. As I've watched and enjoyed the program for the last few months, I've come to understand why it has been loved by generations. Armed with my new found love for, and expertise on the series, I was genuinely excited to try out Double Fine's newest game based on the beloved TV show, Once Upon a Monster. From beginning to end, the game is a joyous experience full of color and endearing characters that was clearly not just created to be a fun game, but one that is designed to encourage families to play together.
After a dramatic unveiling just before E3 last year and a successful launch, there has been little in the way of Kinect news or releases as of late. While the peripheral has seen the recent release of Child of Eden and Twisted Pixel’s western-themed shooter The Gunstringer, it has been quiet on the horizon for Microsoft’s camera. That all changed this week, as the peripheral sees not one, not two, but six new releases. Read on for information on all of them.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today that they will be publishing the latest work of Double Fine Productions: an Xbox 360, Kinect-enabled Sesame Street game, titled Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster. Double Fine Productions, a company best known for their original IPs, namely Psychonauts and Brutal Legend, has chosen to work on this licensed IP due to their love for the brand and children's TV show.
