I broke out the OG Xbox and played some Halo CE, not without some technical hiccups either. Then I dove into all the Game Pass Quests for the week and month and found myself playing a lot of survival horror games. It was all a barrel of monkey laughs.
Over the years, there have been many different types of cartridge software released. Where music and video media (eventually) became standardized, each game system had its own form of storage media. In addition to carrying interchangeable game software, companies tended to make the design and appearance of the cartridges themselves distinctive as a marketing gimmick. Most of us have memories of having game cartridges in boxes, not to mention blowing on the edge connectors when our games glitched out. So here's a brief overview of various game cartridges throughout history. This is not an exhaustive list.

'02 was fair for me. Nothing special happened for me that year, just more pizza delivery and jam sessions, two great tastes that taste great together.
Yeah, sorry, I just don't see why this thing is getting good reviews. It's exactly what the first batch of trailers made it look like, just with a better CGI look for Sonic. Don't get me wrong, I appreciated the references (I thought it was great Sanic made an appearance) and the end credits sequence is great. Otherwise though, the jokes didn't land for me, the plot was bland and I wasn't as impressed by Jim Carey as others have been. And he was my favorite celebrity when I was young for exactly the kind of character he plays here!
Mark and I finished the Borderlands 3 DLC the other day. Then he gave me a new controller and the last of the four arcade replicas that Hallmark made. I made a quick vid of the festive Skylanders at the arcade.

I found out about a new Hallmark Keepsake arcade cabinet ornament and had to have it. Then Xbox live went down and I couldn't play Metro 2033 Redux, so I played Uncharted 3 on PS4 instead.
I remember whatever that title was being a fun, R-rated time.
I'm not too familiar with the point-and-click genre, so I wasn't sure what to expect when I recieved a review code for My Brother Rabbit. From what I do know, having played through the excellent Tormentum: Dark Sorrow and about an hour or so of Double Fine's Broken Age, I doubt My Brother Rabbit is breaking new ground, but it has some cool features. So I figured you good people needed a break from my ramblings about whatever freemium game I was playing on my phone, or how my basketball team was doing in NBA 2K16 (I refuse to buy 17 because my team is so much fun to use and I don't want to start over) but I have a somewhat decent excuse as to why I was absent for the week: I was in Hawaii! I went back for a little over a week (like one day over a week) because we were house sitting/watching over my younger cousins and their little dog while their pops was donating bone marrow. I got to spend some time with my pops, my sister, and while my sister was at her club volleyball practice, my pops, his girl, and I watched WWE's Money in the Bank Pay Per View in the parking lot, on my phone (I do love technology) but more on the randomness of my trip later. Monday is reserved for What I Played, and let's get started.
I don't know Pixlpeeps, typing out Friday's Quick Hits on Saturday morning while in bed might be the new thing. It's comfy, the laptop isn't crazy heavy (nowhere near as light as my old Macbook Pro) and I like the view of my laptop screen and my ceiling. Speaking of ceiling, I need to do something with it like either paint a mural or well just paint a mural. Anything else could be considered weird and/or creepy. Let's get started with Quick Hits!
