I dipped my foot in a lot of games over the July 4th break. I was still on my random kick but also played some for rewards points, some gladly so. I have to admit, I have been using streaming in order to get Game Pass rewards points on games I mostly don't want to play. I only had to start them for the points anyway. Anyhow, here are the barrel-full of games I played.

If there’s ever a time I dread writing a review, it’s when my subject is a highly favored game that has received so much praise over the years that it’s a bit hard not to sound like I’ve just hopped aboard the nostalgic hype train at this point. Check any top 10 list of the best Super Nintendo games, and you’ll be hard-pressed not to find The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past floating somewhere within the top five, if not the number one spot. It’s a testament to its staying power in the minds of the gaming community at large. When I sat down to play this game for myself, I only had one question- is the game really that good? Yes. Yes, it is.
It threatened to snow so much, they closed my library. Turns out all we got was a dusting and some ice. But I didn't have to work, so I gamed it up with my gaming buddy. I played on Wii-U and Xbox Series S.

This game has come up on Game Pass quests at least three times since I started Game Pass about a year ago. I've played it all three times. It's really grown on me. I've gotten a little farther each time. One of these days I'm going to take a stab at finishing it.
You know what comfort food is, right? It's something that you love to eat that puts you in that perfect mood where "life is wonderful" in that moment. It could be ice cream, or pizza, or something that your mom makes that is your absolute favorite. Well, comfort food could describe other things too, like games. A comfort food game could be one that you are super nostalgic about, or simply that has all the right ingredients that makes you feel like you're playing something very familiar and fun. It's that new game that you took a chance on and said, "This game is perfect, I love this game!" Of course, comfort food games can be different for everyone, but here are some that I think make great comfort food games for many gamers right now. All of these games are available on current consoles. Christmastime is probably the BEST time to enjoy those comfort food games. An anthropomorphic animal high school where young furries have to perform trials, not unlike those in Hunger Games, or face starvation. I found the story and relationships gripping, but the targeting controls were terrible. I had to play a pin-the-tail-on-the-furry minigame that was near impossible. That tail looked funny on a nose though. I went and played the following four games and watched a tv episode instead.
A giant mashup of everything I played the other day becomes another great game. Read to play.
