A lot of people (well, relatively speaking with how much traffic I get) asked me to talk about Ratchet and Clank. So yeah, why not? I love Ratchet and Clank! So here's my thoughts on the games I've played. If it's not on here, I didn't play it.

Hello fellow people of Pixlbit! It's been a long time since my last post on here. Lately I've just been enjoying what's left of my summer before school starts. I'm going to assume some of you have watched the Gamescom event. I didn't pay too much attention to the event. Just watched some coverage of games that were already announced.

E3 is tomorrow. I just got my new (used) 92 Honda Accord in Navy Blue or darker today, when my parents dropped it off. I also just got finished with my Maymester project for the L.A. trip. Which we thought we had done a while ago, but ... it's a long, furiously angering story.

I've been sold on getting a PS4 for quite some time now, and after waiting and waiting....and waiting, I've finally managed to find and secure a Playstation 4 at my job. While I won't be able to fully afford it until tomorrow, it's pretty much mine. I can't wait!

PS4 So Far

So I got a PS4 and have been playing what little free time I have this weekend playing the hell out of it. Right now, I'm really enjoying the new hardware. The interface is a huge leap above the PS3's, giving the speed when transferring from games to menus that I get from my 360. It feels really nice to pause the game, go to the actual main menu, and go back right to where I was in the game.

The console wars are underway! How has Nintendo handled them in the past?

The next round of console wars are upon us! With the big three companies--Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft--on the board with their new machines, it's time for people to pick sides and see who comes out on top. No matter which machine you're backing, it's worth looking back at how each company has handled their systems in the past. Since Nintendo came onto the scene first, we'll start by going back in time and checking out how they marketed their machines. From the NES to the WII U, PixlBit's got ya covered!

A growing apathy.

I remember the first footage I ever saw of Bioshock Infinite. It was awesome and I really got pumped for the game. Then I found out that it had been delayed to later that year, and then delayed to the next year, and then delayed a month later. All of these delays tempered my enthusiasm for the game. It was no longer a Day One purchase for me. The only reason that I had picked it up within a month of its release was because of my birthday. The biggest disappointment that I had with Bioshock Infinite is the fact that the initial footage that I saw never made it into the game... I bring this up because I am worried that something similar will happen to South Park: The Stick of Truth. Now that it has been delayed to next year, I am no longer excited about the game. There is something else that might be affecting my excitement for South Park and that is...
My Xbox 360. The 360 is currently my only means to play these big multi-platform releases. This is fine in and of itself, because it is a great console. The problem is that I no longer enjoy playing games on it. This feeling has been sitting with me for the past few months. In fact, I am sure that this feeling can be traced back to the announcement of the Xbox One. I guess that I do not want to give Microsoft any more of my money. I don't think that they deserve any of it. Last week I went and picked up a copy of Arkham Oranges... for the Wii U. I do not even own a Wii U, so why would I ever buy a game for it? I do want a Wii U, and will hopefully have one by the years end.
There is a bright spot in what appears to be a fairly depressing blog. My love of videogames has not diminished. I just have been focusing my attention onto my handhelds, both the Vita and 3DS. I have found myself taking a break from EOU to play Kid Icarus and Arkham Origins: Blackgate. There is a sprinkling of El Shaddai in there as well.
My love of playing games does not fix the apathy that I am currently displaying towards my 360. I am working through potential solutions, but only one seems to be sticking out as the best course of action. I am going to have to pack it up and put it into storage. I do not hink that I can do it today or tomorrow, but I will do it soon. There are a couple of games that I would like to finish, or replay before I say goodbye to my 360 for an extended period of time. I would be remiss if I did not finish El Shaddai, and with all of the Batman talk around the internet I would really like to play some Arkham Asylum. oh, and maybe a little bit of Dark Souls, I hear that game is awesome.
I will finish up with a little something that happened the last time I was in Gamestop. While talking with one of the employees, the topic of next-gen gaming came up. I said something about not being all that excited about that this year. I am much more excited to play Super Mario 3D World. He came back with a wonderful response along the lines of... ... Nintendo, they are still good for one thing, fun games. I guess that is what I really want from the next generation. I want fun games, which is probably why I want a Wii U because those games look fun to me.

Hopefully this weekend is nice! And I am also planning on making myself some earings! We'll see how that goes though, I got myself two jewlery making books and some of the stuff can be a little tricky.

Last week we looked at six great boss themes from video games. This week we're going to look at six final boss themes, y'know, the epic last boss battle at the end of the game! The moment you've been anticipating and dreading during the whole game! Final boss themes should be exciting and epic. Now let me point out that I'm skipping the really famous ones that everyone knows (such as FF6's Dancing Mad, FF7's One Winged Angel, and Super Mario 64's Ultimate Bowser). These are fantastic final boss themes, but I'm going to give you six of my favorites, perhaps some of which you have never heard. I hope you like them, and please let us all know what your favorite final boss themes are too

My Most Desired Games of 2012

I was just going through my database of games I listed from last year and decided to apply my new rating system to them. I call it my "desire-to-play" column. I give each game a one to five star rating and then focus my attention on only the five star games until I play them all. I'm getting to the end of buying all my most desired games of 2013 so far, so I need another list for when I'm done with this year.
